Murder

• HOMICIDE SPECIAL SECTION (HSS), LOS ANGELES POLICE DEPARTMENT •~

"911, what's your emergency?" A blonde lady asked over the phone while clicking on her computer.

"Help please! They are here. They are.... arghh! No, please!" Screams from the other side of the phone.

Her computer kept beeping, the network was breaking, their communication will be severed soon.

"Prastina, what's wrong?" She couldn't reply to her colleague in the same office with her. "Tell me your location and we'll be there as soon as...." The line went off almost immediately.

Prastina threw the phone on the table and began clicking on her computer. "Sheriff, there's a homicide case in 109th street of Hamburg neighborhood."

"I need two people now. Prastina, call Rutten to come with us." Prastina rushed to another office as soon as she was given the instruction.

"I don't do homicide cases." Cameron muttered, his eyes closed. He rested comfortably on the chair. Prastina stood frozen, how the hell did he hear their conversation?

Prastina stood in front of him. "It's an emergency. You need to do this as there's no one else around." She tried to convince him.

Everyone in the police department knew Cameron Rutten not to involve himself in homicide cases. Give him any other case, he'd solve it perfectly.

Another of the department landlines rang again. "We are on our way...." Sheriff picked it up. There was a little silence and his eyes widened.

"There's a strange murder case down an alley between the 93rd and 94th streets in Westmount." Cameron opened his eyes in a flash and stood up. He was already out of the door before they noticed.

His car zoomed off from the police station. Prastina and the Sheriff followed while two other detectives went to 109th street of Hamburg to find out more about the homicide case where the first phone call came from.

"I thought you don't involve yourself in homicide cases." Prastina smirked sarcastically.

Cameron's usual cold handsome face remained the same. She huffed in annoyance seeing he didn't give her any expression not to talk of a reply.

"It's the third house." Cameron's heart somersaulted when his gaze went to the door the Sheriff pointed to.

Prastina opened the door with her gun pointed frontwards. Cameron swayed her out of the way as he rushed in. Everywhere was arranged well and he almost doubted murder happened here.

A second, he suddenly stopped walking and that's where he began to see it.

Footprints that were almost invisible. Cameron bent to touch it, it looked like sand but it wasn't. His eyes narrowed on the arranged chairs and he sensed a particular cologne there, it smelt awful like a body messed up in poo. Looking at the table where books were arranged, there was nothing unusual there.

Walking into the first bedroom, he sensed the dragging of the victim. There was a scissors on the floor which the victim used to fight back but it was broken to two. Looking at the door knob of the bedroom, there was a print whereby the victim tried to close the door and the trails of blood began from there.

The blood led to the bathroom and that's where he saw it. Stabs, twenty times and teeth bite into the neck. Nails plunged into the stomach, straight upwards to the heart.

Cameron's breath became ragged as he rushed to the bathtub. "Mother....!" He wanted to shout but it came out as an angry whisper instead. He tried to control his silver blue eyes turning brownish red.

One reason was him seeing fresh blood, wanting to feed on it and the other reason was directed at the one who killed his mother.

"You found the victim?" Prastina walked in at the wrong time. His fangs and nails were already elongated.

Prastina wondered why he was close to the bathtub like he was looking at something and another, why didn't he give an answer to her question? "Mikael? Are you okay?" Her words were distant in his ears.

Cameron gripped the bathtub aggressively, his nails scratching and giving it long marks in the process. He was trying hard to control himself but seeing his mother in cold blood with her stomach and heart ripped out isn't saving the situation.

That feeling, it explains it. Was that why he was reluctant to leave the house all by herself since her maid wasn't around? Was that why she insisted on pushing him to work this morning? Was that why she called earlier, about two hours ago to check up on him? Did she know someone was coming to kill her? Fuck!

"Mikael, talk to me. Why are you suddenly silent?" Prastina scoffed angrily. She knows Cameron is cold but he could at least say something since they are onto investigation together.

"Shut the fuck up!" Cameron stood up with force, charged towards her in anger.

Prastina's heart almost flew out of her chest when she heard his loud roar. There was something wrong. She has never seen Cameron get angry before, he is always silent. His eyes, why does it seem like the color is different?

Before she could say a word, a sudden smack on the side of her neck made her pass out as she fell to the ground.

"Get a hold of yourself, Cameron!" His best friend, Duran, shouted.

Cameron turned his back against him. "Someone murdered her. Someone murdered Belle!" He muttered painfully and angrily.

"I know it's hard but there are two other detectives around. You don't want to have them killed with your vampire anger, Cameron." Duran strode slowly towards him and touched his shoulder.

Cameron nodded, breathing in and out. Duran splashed water on Prastina through the tap. "Mikael!" She gasped, coughing loudly.

Cameron was already out of the place before Duran woke her up.

"Where's he? Why did he suddenly change? He seemed different." Prastina rambled on.

Duran rolled his eyes and assisted her outside. The body of the victim was carried out of the bathtub and placed in a cellophane wrap. Prastina looked around and saw that Cameron's car was gone, where did he disappear to again?

NIGHTFALL ©âœ"

Two different footsteps. One was following the other. No, there were about six footsteps. The other five were following just one person. In a car space, not so close to the nearest hospital.

"When will you stop following me?" Cameron suddenly turned, face to face the five people that were on black hoodies.

The five men made eye contact and changed to vampires with their elongated teeth and nails. Before Cameron could make another blink, the five of them attacked him at once.

Two gave him a kick at the back of his legs with their ankles, he fell to the ground on his knees. The other two gave him kicks on both sides of his neck with their ankles, he fell straight backwards.

Before he could be given a chance to stand up, they dealt with his body with strong kicks. That was it, he changed to a vampire too. He managed to take three of them down with multiple kicks and blows. At the same moment he was dealing with the fourth one, he suddenly heard a loud whistling sound in his ears.

The sound was so loud and disturbing. "Arghhhh!!!" He covered his ears with his bloody hands. Where was the noise coming from?

Just as the noise stopped, he looked around and saw that the guys were gone but something was wrong. He was about to move when he felt something holding his left leg.

Cameron frowned, trying to remove what was stopping him from moving.

It happened. The moon shone brightly just above his position. He felt the twisting of bones like something was entering into his body.

Cameron fell to the floor again as he screamed loudly. It was like his bones, blood were on fire. He felt movements in every part of his body, including his head.

"Hello son." The voice said.
