Michigan

~• MICHIGAN, AT THAT PARTICULAR SPOT •~

The girl. Her baby sister who would be about two years old was crying bitterly, regarding that the car was upside down. "I will bring you to safety, Camila." She muttered, looking directly at the door handle. It creaked and opened instantly.

Baby Camila was carried out by her big sister. A direct contact look at their father. Sounds of zooming cars was heard and they disappeared from the place immediately.

"He needs help!" Richard Mics was carried into an ambulance.

A plane was waiting for them at the airport, leading straight to France. "We need a doctor, now!" Richard's personal bodyguard, Landis yelled.

"I am one." A lady appeared from nowhere, a cap covering her face. "Are you sure she can do this?" Another guard asked.

"He suffered two deep bullets. If I am correct, he'd be bleeding out so much that his last prayers might have to be said in an hour." The lady smirked, looking in between them. They led the way immediately. Her cap was removed and she got straight to work.

There were no gloves, she had to perform a surgery real quick or Richard Mics is going to die in less than an hour.

"I need two bags of blood, a B positive one. Two tubes, one head clamp." She gave instructions. "We are on a fucking plane! Where do you get that blood from?" The second bodyguard yelled.

"If you want him to live, you'd get it or I might have to throw you out of the plane to achieve that." She glared fiercely at him. In about twenty five minutes, the surgery was done.

"Something is missing." She looked around and there were just twelve men in the plane. "Where are the kids?" She asked.

"The girls disappeared. My men are on the lookout." Landis said.

There, she remembered. "Those children are dangerous. You can save their father and the big sister but you must kill the baby girl." Her mother's words. That was why she came, her mission has failed.

~• LOS ANGELES •~

Cameron rushed into the office. "Where have you been?" Hardt asked but he got ignored.

"Boss knows you haven't been on the seat." Faulkner chipped in.

"Trust me, I didn't try to save your ass." Gallegos chuckled.

"Rutten!!!" Sheriff yelled from the clinic ward meant for the office.

"You better have a good explanation of where the hell you are coming from." Sheriff was glancing at some documents on the bed with his glasses on.

Cameron sighed. He shouldn't have come to the office but he needed his mother's blood samples to take home.

"I have no excuse sir." Cameron replied.

"Tell me, where were you?" Sheriff asked, looking straight in the eye.

"I was...I was out doing business." Cameron took a steady stance, folding both hands at his front, answering his boss nonchalantly.

Sheriff got angry. "Then, continue to sort out your business for the next two weeks maybe you will be back to your normal detective senses by then." He said.

"Are you giving me a day off?" Cameron asked, feigning ignorance.

"No. It's called a fucking suspension!" Sheriff yelled angrily.

Cameron chuckled and walked quickly into his office. He suddenly stopped to glance at Prastina's office. She isn't on seat either. Maybe she was still resting due to the night he saved her from those lunatics.

"I'm on my way, Gray." He entered his truck and drove away.

Glendale opened the door for him. "What happened to him?" Cameron strode in but he paused when broken glasses pierced into his legs. "Now, what in the name of Ares happened here?" He rolled his eyes, looking at the state of the house. It looked like it was a dump area.

"Your friends, of course. They attacked us!" Kelvin got hold of his shirt immediately, throwing him a punch and Cameron's face darted to the other side as a result.

"Stop! This isn't the time for this." Glendale separated them.

Cameron looked at Kelvin and sighed. "Where is he?" He asked. Gray was covered in four blankets and he was still shaking terribly even while sweating. His face and body looked pale but was cold as usual.

"Duran, have you checked what exactly is wrong with him?" He asked.

"All vitals, blood, heart rate, temperature are normal except that his pulse is getting weaker and his appearance shows something is indeed wrong with his body system." Duran explained.

"How long has he been this way?" Cameron asked.

"No less than two hours." Kelvin replied.

Cameron looked at Gray. "Can we force whatever it is out of him?" He asked even though he already knew the answer.

"It has gone deep into his blood vessels. It is too late to force the substance out now." Kelvin answered, ruffling his hair.

"We have to take him to a healer." Kelvin said.

"We can't risk anyone knowing our identity." Cameron replied.

"Then, what do you suggest we do!" Glendale has never yelled at Cameron before but she just did. Cameron sighed again.

"Who knows any healer around?" He finally asked.

~• BLACK HUT •~

A young girl came out of the black hut, carrying a basket way bigger than her. "We seek the black healer named Ilse." Cameron asked, Gray was on his shoulder. The girl looked at them, her black teeth looking so irritating but they dared not show their irritated faces.

"Here I am." The young girl's face was only a facade, she's actually a old woman with eyes that looked like they were stitched by a no - conscience doctor and her body looked like it was decaying but it gave no irritating smell.

They all entered into the hut and Gray was laid on the black mat. Ilse placed her nails behind his right ear and she gave a small laugh.

"He isn't human, neither are you all." She glared at them. "Except him!" Duran almost flew out of his chair when she suddenly pointed at him.

"You will need a Babassu root and two of its hard shelled nuts. The roots will be grinded into powder, mixed into the oil that nuts produces and he will be fine." Ilse explained, staring deep at Gray who seemed to be sleeping after she had touched his ear.

Kelvin glanced at the others. "Where can we find this Babassu?" Cameron asked.

Ilse chucked slowly until it became so loud and irritating to the ears. "Deep in the forest of warm bodies, eastern part of Michigan." She said.

Cameron's eyes dimmed. Why Michigan again?

"Then, what are we waiting for?" Kelvin said impatiently. "One has to remain here, with him." Ilse said, fixing her eyes on Glendale.

"Females are not allowed in the forest. She has to stay with him." She added.

"Take care of him." Kelvin patted Glendale and she nodded. After bading goodbyes, they set out of the hut.

"The human might need this when the time comes." Ilse gave a potion to Cameron who glanced at Duran before taking the bottle.

"Alright boys. You have two days or you will all die in the forest." Ilse said, muttering a spell that opened a red portal. She smiled when they all walked into it.

"Let's hope your friends bring the ingredients back before sundown in two days." Ilse whispered that Glendale heard her loud and clear.
