An Intense Battle

"Are we going to retake the fortresses that are now occupied by orcs?" Damian stepped out of his tent, where he was currently resting and learning some practical spells.

"It's Commander Erwin's orders; they are currently facing more enemies at the other end of the north, so this mission is in our hands."

Despite being very young, Damian had gained a lot of combat experience. He was recognized as the best mage currently in the army, at least in the north, and many felt safe fighting alongside someone like him.

Damian mounted a warhorse and followed Lieutenant Colonel Martin in formation to attack the demon army.

His appearance on the battlefield was very sudden and unprepared, catching the orcs completely off guard.

Commander Erwin quickly employed detachment tactics, ordering the two rear squadrons through flags to turn around and change formation to block the cavalry in a dense square formation.

Before the battle, Marvin and his cavalry fired three rounds of feathered arrows in succession, bringing down fifty or sixty orc soldiers.

Observing the battlefield, Damian instructed the messenger to order Luther-led infantry to fire crossbows, but their numbers were limited, so they didn't have much impact on the battlefield.

Boom! Boom! Boom!

The ground in front of the monstrous wolf cavalry was shattered. Damian had ordered this for the mages, taking advantage of the enemy's fixation and preparing to attack.

In just moments, a lightning bow formed in Damian's hands, and he launched several Indra arrows directly at the prominent enemies. Each arrow that hit killed more than a dozen enemies, and soon the casualties on the battlefield increased to five hundred.

Getting closer to the orc formation, Damian mounted his warhorse and violently charged into the enemy formation while unsheathing his sword.

The horse he rode was very strong, and when it collided with a few orcs, they were fiercely trampled to death.

Damian took advantage of this moment to immobilize many targets with numerous dark abilities.

"They can't see us; attack!"

Slashhhh!!!

At the same time, a sound of air being cut was heard, and Damian didn't turn around, but he could feel something cold pass through his clothes.

Damian didn't need to look down to know that a lance had grazed his abdomen; probably some enemies who hadn't been eliminated yet attacked him with the sword, and that was a real problem.

Not being as effective in close combat for now, when Damian felt danger, he decisively chose to retreat and suddenly jumped off his horse to the other end of the field.

The lance that had grazed Damian's body pierced the horse's back, and Damian knew that if that lance had gone through his back, he would be dead.

Looking back, Damian discovered that the attacker was a demon.

"I wonder what I'm doing at the front line," Damian thought as he stabilized his body, but this time, when he saw that the demon intended to attack him again, he had distanced himself.

"We've got this!" A pair of twin soldiers who had seen Damian being attacked moved between the enemies and attacked that demon.

Damian knew they would take care of it because he had also cast a stunning spell on them, so this shouldn't be a problem for them.

Roooaaarrrr.

Upon hearing that annoying noise, Damian turned around and saw a huge orc massacring the soldiers in the front.

"Keep pushing forward!" Lieutenant Colonel Marvin mounted his warhorse, which was very intelligent because it attacked nearby orcs with its hind legs.

Boom! Boom!

In just a few seconds, several fireballs shot up into the sky and, as if controlled by the air, hit farther areas, killing dozens of enemies.

At the same time, Damian used his longsword to, with great speed, strike the head of a nearby orc, easily killing it.

"Arghhh!!!"

Although the great generals took all the credit, Damian was sweeping through everyone after arriving on the battlefield, demonstrating his amazing mastery of spells used to exterminate demons.

Although this battle was not over yet, Damian had wiped out thousands of targets of various types.

Damian wiped the blood and mud from his eyes; this battlefield was a disaster that extended across all areas. Corpses and blood could be seen everywhere.

"This is a damn mess..." The passion in Damian's eyes had faded due to nervousness, but fortunately, he could suppress his emotions through magic because he believed he could mediate this battle better that way.

Of all his abilities, thunder-class spells were the most used and for which he was becoming known.

Combat skills were mostly weapon skills, and in this aspect, they could only play a small role in war. Unless Damian fell off his horse, engaged in close combat, or wanted to fight a powerful demon, he would use more dangerous methods that would affect many others around him.

Overall, Damian's combat skills were efficient because he also combined the magic that surrounded his body, enhancing his physical capabilities.

He was the first mage to fight in close combat, earning him quite a fearsome title on the battlefield.

On the contrary, mages usually stayed away from the battlefield or where they were close to the enemy, but Damian decided to fight at the forefront because he believed it would give him much more experience.

This world was cruel; if Damian wanted to live many years here, he needed to endure the worst situations to survive the future of this world.

If he wanted to be immortal, he first needed to be worthy of living this life; he had promised this to the owner of this body as a tribute to his wishes before disappearing.

That map he had in his possession was probably fake, but with the few things he could do in this world, he wouldn't lose anything by doing them.

"So many dead, so much blood, and it seems like we haven't achieved anything..." Damian calmed himself, held the longsword in reverse, and focused on taking down the orc soldiers blocking his path. He looked at the cavalry and found that the cavalry had broken through. The obstruction of the two orc squadrons disappeared, and they killed more than a hundred and eighty soldiers.

Only about fifty or sixty orc soldiers survived this charge; they were already scared and fled into the forest in panic.

"In the end, everyone is afraid of death, even those who have lived a lot." Damian had died in an unknown way, and it was terrifying. There were many sensations he had never felt before, and to be honest, he was still confused.

Luther led dozens of soldiers and continued to shoot arrows to hunt down these defeated deserters.

After defeating two demon squadrons at the other end, Lieutenant Colonel Marvin turned around and attacked the left flank of the orcs.

The orcs on the left wing were very close to the fortresses; their formation was scattered, and they did not form a dense formation; the orcs couldn't stop the cavalry charge at all.

Lieutenant Colonel Marvin fought consecutively, concentrating his forces to attack the scattered enemies and continuously charging, defeating five orc soldier squadrons.

In the subsequent battle, Damian once again took the opportunity and cast dozens of powerful spells. The lightning moved erratically but accurately. Damian at this point had mastered his magic most precisely, and this was helping him at this point.

"Ahhhhh!!!"

Boom! Boom! Boom!

Damian might never forget these screams, but this war could not be prevented. There

There were no exits; he was not a hero, but he knew that the least he could do was this.

"For humanity!"

There were soldiers trapped in isolated areas of the battlefield, but the cavalry that continued to advance massacred hundreds of enemy soldiers.

Attacked by human soldiers both from inside and outside, the orc soldiers immediately retreated.

The demons in the fortresses had been compressed by catapults, and the surrounding areas were filled with fire.

The orc siege troops were attacked by the cavalry three times during the siege and suffered heavy losses each time.

Damian knew he didn't need to keep advancing; it wasn't necessary to bring out his Divine General, so he just looked at the battlefield.

"We need help here; quickly, make a tourniquet for that soldier."

"I need a doctor here!"

"Where are the priests?"

As soon as Damian realized this, he saw hundreds of people lying on the ground, crying and bleeding profusely. At that moment, his movements kicked in, and he quickly ran to where the wounded were.

"All right, let me help you."

"Do you know what you're doing?"

"A long time ago, my mother was a nurse, so I remember exactly how to stop bleeding."
