Run.

He was panting heavily as he ran, he could hear the sound of his feet moving in harmony with his breathing. It was raining and his vision was impaired as droplets of rain beat at his face with a continuous steady motion. Still, he ran. His chest was contracting, as if all the air was being squeezed out of his chest. He knew what that feeling was, it was panic. Rampant. With every step, it grew.

"What happened?..." he kept on repeating the phrase in his head over and over.

He knew something was wrong. He saw himself earlier. It was him. What exactly was that? He knew they would come for him. In a couple of hours, they'll start hunting him like a dog. The entire organization will awaken. Rightfully so, all the members of the Bronze council were dead. All six of them.

Yujing, he must have heard by now. He wondered. How did he take it in? Was he calm and collected as he usually is? Did he seeth with rage? Did he breakdown and cry from the death of his father, did he hurt from the betrayal of the person he trusted the most? He feared for him. That was the first fear he had felt in a long time.

Zhi yujing stopped hearing anything from the person at the other end. His ears stung, a deafening ring piercing his eardrums. His father was dead. What did they mean his father was dead?

"Young master?...young master?...are you still there..." the person at the other end tried to bring him back

Yujing: "How?"

Meng Yu: "Huh?.."

Yujing: " How did they die?.."

Meng Yu: Uhm...their throats slit...er... there's no sign of struggle so it's quite weird... we're still trying to figure the situa..."

Yujing: "Where's Xuan yu.." he cut him off

Meng Yu; Well... he's actually... we're looking for him. I think you should come and see it for yourself..." He said carefully, not wanting to annoy him more than he already was.

Zhi yujing hang up without saying anything else. Half the house was asleep and even in a moment of pain, he was still quite considerate and tried not to wake anyone up. He had not wanted to go to the scene but if it was something that meng Yu could not say in the phone, it must have been important. Auntie Long followed closely behind him, really worried.

Auntie Long: My dear boy, maybe you should rest...then tomorrow you'll head there when you're less tired huh?..." she begged.

Yujing: "Don't Tell her anything, until the situation is clear. It'll probably be in everywhere by morning so do not let her see that too. " He said as he got into the car, moments later, he sped away leaving Auntie long on the driveway staring at the back of the car with a frown.

Yujing was referring to her sister. Gwen was sound asleep. She slept peacefully like nothing in this world was meant to trouble her. He knew she'll find out eventually, but if he could protect her from this for a couple of hours, then he would do it.

Something was off with Xuan yu, judging from Meng yu's tone. His suspicion grew when he wasn't picking up his calls. Was he dead? But they only found six bodies. He was prepared for the worse, his dead body, his father's dead body. His heart ached and his breath came in short rasps as he tightened his grip on the wheel. He taught himself how to take it for the sixth time but he surely could not have seen that coming. He absolutely would have not imagined what he found when he got there. His body was not there because he was the one that killed them.

Yujing still kept calling. God knows how many times he had called. It rang and rang and rang again. No answer. He bit on his nail unconsciously. He had bitten on it till it started to bleed. The rest of his father's men stared, silent. They had all seen the footage. Xuan yu's face was all over it, he had killed all six in a few strokes. With his skills in martial arts, nobody stood a chance. Yet even with such strong proof nobody would dare to admit it. Zhi Yujing muttered to himself.

Yujing: Tell me what's going on...tell me what's happening...why aren't you picking up...

He went on and on, anxiety and fear had taken the best of him. He prayed earnestly, something he never did that it was a big misunderstanding. He would never, he would come back and explain and the truth will come out.

Four days after, still no response. News had already spread through out the organization. It had now become a hunt. A traitor and a murderer was on the loose and they would put him down the moment they found him.

Yujing's life had started to crumble. On the fourth day, he looked like he had no life left in him, an empty shell. Gwen normally was a crybaby, the most spoilt child to ever exist and she loved her father the most since he doted on her. She was his precious Angel. So naturally, his death was a major blow to her. She could have cried, passed out, wanted to die but looking at the state of her brother, how dare she? She had never seen him that broken.

Everybody knew how much Xuan yu meant to him. Everybody knew how much he adored his father. Now one was gone, murdered cold. The other, on the run for murdering his own father. He had lost two people in his life that he could never have imagined living without in one night.

At first it was hope, hope that Xuan yu will come back and put his heart at ease, and explain that he did not do it, and comfort him from the pain of his father's death. After sometime, the hope mixed with fear of the possibility of the reality. With fear came anxiety then pain. Extreme pain in his heart it was almost physical. Two days earlier. He had held back for that long, not shading a single tear. That day however, he had started to seriously hurt. The pain from his mother's death also came back, like a healing wound being reopened. He had locked himself in his room and broke down. He cried until he lost his voice and his eyes were swollen but with every thought of them, floods of tears gushed out. It was honestly too much for anyone. When he had no more strength in his body, he lay in the softness of his carpet, on the floor for a full day and night, not moving as if he was dead.

The morning of the third day after the murder, people had still not stopped checking up on him. His father's subordinates came, mainly to look for chances to gain favors but still they came. All other families had been at the mansion but he did not see anyone. His bodyguard Rei stood outside, faithfully guarding the door. If he was worried he could not do anything about it and he could not show it either. Gwen came around seven in the morning and spent thirty minutes crying outside his door, begging him to come out and eat. Auntie Long eventually managed to drag her out of there after convincing her that he will be okay. In reality, she was not so sure either. It is only that she could not cry and make a fuss, since at a time like this the whole household needed her to be strong.

At noon, Rei and Liang could not take it any longer so they desperately begged their young master from outside the door since they would not dare to force their way in.

Rei: "Young master....you have been there for almost two days...uh? Please come out and eat...." He begged

Liang:" Yes young master...nobody can stay on an empty stomach for that long..." Liang added worriedly but then a thought hit him and he stared at Rei in panic.

Liang:" Do you think he might...!!"

Rei : (smacking him on the back of his head.) "Shut your mouth! Don't jinx us! "

If It was as Liang was implying, that his young master was dead, then he would also not have enough reasons to live. After all, all he had done for most of his life was to stand by his side. All that begging was in vain. Not even a single movement was made from inside. Yujing still lay there, still. If it was not for his almost unoticable breathing, one would think it was a corspe. But his state that time was not very far from one.

Finally the night of the fourth day, news came. Enough to get him out of his room, enough to bring him slightly back to life. But only for a short period of time.

Rei: "Sir....they...they found Xuan yu.."

He had already moved on to the next stage of emotion. Anger. When they had left the house that night to go meet the traitor, he had sworn with everything in him that he will kill him with his own hands. His eyes sparked with rage. When his uncle saw this, he smiled with satisfaction and remarked

Uncle:" Now that's the boy I want to see! Tonight, let's avenge your father!"

His uncle was worried that he would not be able to do it. After all Xuan yu was not a person anyone would touch if they wanted to live and Yujing and his father had made that very clear through out the years.
