A crazy project

Before entering, Eneas remembered that at least he could remember at least seven sporting events with results that were beyond expectations, in which they would arrive before the end of the semester.

It's not that Aeneas was a fanatic; he liked sports, although he had no passion for them, but in his previous cadet room he ended up spending many nights watching sports with his classmates.

If he counted the most obvious results, he could add up to 14 other results, certain that the bets would not be very favorable, but they were sure wins.

With this in mind he could know his limits if he didn't find some other way to exploit his knowledge from his previous life.

He was sitting in the comfortable chair with the development engineer, who was looking at the crazy series of requests that the cadet had made.

"Mr. Aeneas, are you sure you only want five crew cabins on the ship? I also ask you to reconsider the need to include the cryogenesis cabins for twenty people. Even with the five mechas, the fast ships or escape capsules, the life support systems, weapons and requests that you have made, almost all the space would be wasted in the cargo hold. That would only be necessary for trips lasting more than 2 years in duration. I believe that even if you can afford it, it is something unnecessary and, at the same time, just as dangerous if you plan to go that far..."

"I know, but it is my will. What I want is for you to finally tell me how much everything would be worth and how long it would take to be ready. As you can see, being a cadet, no special permits will be needed for the provision of basic weapons and equipment; I just want "how much and when"

The employee was sweating while doing calculations and continuing to add supplements to the budget. After a couple of calls to the factory, he sat down in the chair. He didn't know if he was more afraid of giving such a huge budget or that the cadet could pay it. They had required a report. Of solvency previously, so as not to waste time with the nonsense of a cadet, the problem was that not only was the solvent, but that boy was enormously rich and seemed very secure.

"According to the factory with all the adjustments and the extra cost, this is what it would cost"

The employee did not dare to pronounce the figure; he broke it down on the screen, the five mechas, 2 of the colossus type, two of the falcon type and one of the valkyrie type alone cost a whopping 8 billion Kukris between the five, the cruiser space had a cost of 47 billion kukris; this was just under three times the money Aeneas had in his bank account.

At one point, he did the math; with all the sporting events in the coming months, he should have no problem exceeding that amount by far; he could even pay for the cruise, and it would only be a small part of his fortune at the end of the semester.

"As for weapons, we have a problem. Beyond the basic standard weapons, you can order a series of very rare and special weapons. Come on, Mr. Dardano, to put it simply, we cannot install those weapons without a level A+ security authorization."

That type of authorization required two admirals, or a great admiral, to endorse it. Aeneas could collect the favor he owed his Mother Odysseus in this way, although he would not see him again until the next semester, and that was if he was lucky to win the place for the Argos. How could he gain the trust of two admirals before that happened?

"Is it possible to proceed with the basic equipment and carry out the installation afterwards?

"Yes, we could leave the pre-installation done and install it later if the authorization is obtained; if we do not obtain it, we could negotiate a partial repurchase of the material.

"And the deadline?"

"A project of this type is not fast; there is a lot of special work to do, and we could not have it ready before 5 months from when the signal is given to start it, it is true that the wicks can be ready in two months, in the case of which additional equipment would be installed for an additional month."

"And what about the payment method?"

"Ten percent to start the project, 10% monthly while construction lasts and the rest upon final delivery"

Although the commission that the employee would receive for this project was monstrous, he feared the next words that boy would say.

"Okay, let's formalize the initial payment..."

Never even among the greatest magnates had I seen such self-confidence and contempt for money, neither among the big companies nor the most obscene billionaires, that boy in his simple officer's uniform had just paid five and a half billion Kukris without breaking his hair or caring.

Although a space cruiser was not one of the largest ships that his company could manufacture, we were not talking about an order from the Navy or a large space travel company; we were talking about an individual, a star cruiser was a true warship. With a capacity to accommodate up to two hundred and fifty people, and armed to sustain a war...

The employee knew that a spacecraft with that level of weaponry could only be used freely and with authorization. Really, until he finished his first year and officially had the title of pilot, although he did not rank in the army, the cadet could not get the hangar ship. Even in the event of war, it could be confiscated or forced to be used as a weapon... what the hell was that boy thinking?

Aeneas left satisfied after going to the shopping center, he had done much more than he expected, he had managed to find a way to save his mother without depending on the system, money or luck. It is true that the conversation with Admiral Odyseo had been disturbing, but they were mysteries and people that he would face little by little.
