Life, death and dreams

The Alpha 1 fleet returned to the Helena station; an officer took charge of the Medusa, while Eneas took charge of the Arcadia. Nobody argued, nobody spoke; the atmosphere was thick, sad, and hard.

The best medical officers in that fleet were gathered in the Arcadia medical facilities; all the soldiers and some cadets who were quartered there were immediately moved to control the Medusa, and the rebel officers who had surrendered, Eneas, moved to the engineering room. Everything was done quickly and silently.

There were no reproaches for Eneas's reaction, no one questioned the bloody actions that occurred on the bridge of the Medusa. The bodies of Eurystheus and the rest of the downed officers were thrown into space without honor, as if they were space garbage emptied from the ship's containers.
