Chapter 100: Shadows of the Past

Ezra rested his head closely to the wall of the small cottage he sat in, though it was still afternoon. His cottage did well to block the sunlight from penetrating inside. He wore a very gloomy expression, devoid of life and begging for death. The past few years had been nothing but hell for him, and there was nothing he could have done to prevent it.

That was the thing he hated about himself. His attachment to people.

"Ezra, please try to understand me," that was the voice of his brother, Andre, begging for his understanding, approval, and care. Although Ezra was not in the mood to answer anything pertaining to his brother. Just a few moments before, his brother had come with the shocking news of his departure plan.

'He wants to leave me also.'

Ezra shrugged even more. His life had counted so many losses that he could hardly register them.

"Andre, I don't want you to go," he muttered in a very low tone.
