Trying To Contact Home

Jace pushed open the door to his room at the inn, his thoughts still buzzing with the revelations of his new abilities and the system's recent updates. He barely registered the familiar surroundings before he sensed a presence. He looked up to see Jacin standing in the center of the room, her arms crossed and a stern expression on her face.

"Jacin," Jace began, but she cut him off with a sharp look.

"Where have you been all night, Jace?" she demanded. "What were you up to?"

Jace sighed, knowing that evasion wouldn't work with her. "I was in the forest, testing my new abilities," he replied honestly. "I've undergone some significant changes and needed to understand what I'm capable of now."

Jacin's eyes narrowed. "Significant changes? What do you mean?"

Jace took a deep breath, meeting Jacin's gaze. "Last night, I went through a significant change," he said. "I finally let myself transform into a werewolf."
