Vincent's eyes filled with tears, but he wasn't regretful. He believed that anyone in his shoes would have done the same. He took a deep breath and began to speak, his voice trembling with a mix of bitterness and pain.
"You all think you know me, but you don't," he said. "I've lived in the shadows of this family my entire life. My father was supposed to be the head of the Sinclair family and the leader of the United Republic, but he lost to his brother because of some silly family rule. From that moment on, we were shunned. I was shunned."
Eve's eyes widened in disbelief. "Vincent, we never meant to—"
"You never meant to, but you did," Vincent interrupted, his voice rising with anger. "I was always overshadowed by you, by all of you. I was the forgotten one, the one who didn't matter. Even when I finally unlocked my gift, I thought things would change. For a moment, they did. I was recognized, celebrated. But then you awakened yours, Eve."
