-Nine Years Post Saturation Completion.-
May 10th, 2038, is a day that will live on in infamy…or so the phrase goes. These days, you'd figure Earthlings wouldn't be surprised by anything anymore; hell, almost half a year ago, I, the now sole SSR Grade Villain, made light work of the USA-HA's strongest Rankers, turning society on its head overnight.
That alone should be world-shattering, but life continues, and time waits for no one, so eventually, the masses adapt to life, albeit with reluctance, especially when it comes to fully trusting the heroes.
Still, you'd think we as a society would be ready and willing to accept reality for what it was. I mean, we were basically living life torn off the pages of Comics, video games, and movies, yet none of us, myself included, were prepared for that day in May of 2038.
Chaotic Times had once again revealed themselves to the people of Earth. The once-ignored omen spoken by Arkadia the day the particle saturation was completed had finally come to fruition, and that was the appearance of the first extraterrestrials.
Nine years after the Day Earth was upgraded to Alpha Status, outsiders visited it from a distance Galaxy…with them, they brought power and destruction unseen by our planet.
Bombardments and armaments three times as catastrophic as the most powerful nuclear weapons and floods of creatures all in the Delta-Rank were suddenly unleashed upon Earth, leaving no man, woman, or child of ANY race safe. It was a calamity we should have been preparing for from the very beginning.
But no, our petty squabbling and greed took the front seat. We had been warned, but instead of uniting as a singular people, the Earthlings fought each other, stole from each other… and massacred each other.
It may sound hypocritical coming from me, but apart from Brenden and Emilia, I couldn't care less about what happened, that is, until the day a swarm of strange creatures appeared on my doorstep.
I had been living my life all peacefully in the wilderness of Alaska when a loud sonic boom from above threatened to destroy my shack of a log cabin.
"Classification Five Lifeform, Come out with your hands up and surrender." An animalistic voice shouted over a loudspeaker outside of my home.
That's right, I didn't misspeak; he said Class 5. Thanks to the gains obtained from exacting my revenge, I had achieved what I believed would take years, and I had evolved again.
{Current Race: Hyie Hyumun}
{Current Race Rank: Fifth Classification}
{Racial Trait: 1:1000 Level Progress Gain, +2.5 Stat Point Upon Leveling Up. 15% Stat boost upon Evolution.}
{Racial Progress: 01%}
{Available Racial Evolutions: 0}*Please Reach 100% Progress to generate a list of Racial Evolutions*
Alright, before you begin grilling me because you think I've somehow hacked Arkadia and gotten all the good-good race upgrades, let me inform you about what ACTUALLY happened.
When I got back from my revenge mission and sat down to tally up my gains, I noticed I was eligible for an Evolution upgrade, but when I opened the panel, there were only two options this time.
Hyumun And Hyie Hyumun.
After some questioning and command prompt experimentation, I learned that my little goof up in choosing High Human instead of regular Human unlocked an Evolution path that shouldn't have been available.
Realistically, I should have only had access to Hyumun, which was essentially an upgraded or Primal version of Humans from ancient times. Still, because I skipped the 2C Human Race altogether, Arkadia automatically compensated, offering me the Upgraded version of High Human…so basically, I'm a 5C instead of a 4C; it's as simple as that.
However, my skipping to 5C wasn't all rainbows and puppies; it took me a full week to finish my Evolution, and although I got a solid 25% boost to all my stats, I HAD OBTAINED AN ABYSMAL XP RATIO.
The way it was looking, I would be forever stuck in Gamma Rank…sigh…even thinking about it still gives me a headache.
Anyway, back to these alien dickheads that appeared on my doorstep.
"Who the F*** do you think you're talking to," Getting up from my couch and dropping my Ark-Tablet on the coffee table, I stormed to the front door, swung it open, and boomed in an angry voice.
Sure, I knew about the Alien invaders; hell, I even knew they were extremely powerful, but what did I care? These assholes chose to interrupt my relaxing time…I HAD to make them pay.
"GET DOWN HERE!" I Commanded, unleashing my Talent's full capabilities…but unlike every other time, I had used it before…all I was met with was silence…until a robotic voice broke it.
"Mental Attack Identified, the subject has attempted coercion of units, threat level issued as 8 Stars, New orders have been issued, eliminate threat."
"Ah…f***…" As the swear left my lips, my pupils constricted as a hundred massively concentrated beams of pure High-Delta Energy erupted from the barrels of just as many rifles.
Thanks to the increase in perception and my high intellect, time seemed to slow down as my brain spun up, trying to figure out a way to survive, and only one came to mind.
Without hesitation, right as the beams were about to make contact with my body, I crushed something I had been saving for some time: my one and only Delta Instance (Δ++) Token. And right as the beams connected with each other and the ground, I vanished.
BOOM, BOOOM, BOOM, BOOOM BOOM BOOM
The multiple explosions rivaling Cruise Missles of the past created a massive fireball, incinerating not only my Cabin but every sign of life within a 50-mile radius, creating a vast, expanding dead zone.
"Threat eliminated; return to the mothership!"
At the time, I had no way of knowing what kind of hell I had just thrown myself into because, as a Peak High-Gamma Ranker, the survivability for someone like me inside of a (Δ++) Instance, where even the weakest Monster would be at the Low-Zeta Rank, was less than zero.
And I would stay in that instance…for the next year…alone…
