THE RAGE (2)

At first, Tony wanted to paint the whole affair as if it was only a one time thing, a mistake that he shouldn't have committed, as if it only happened in a single moment of weakness, but what Dawn said made him realize that she knew everything.

"What do you mean?" Tony was holding onto his last hope that he could talk his way out of it, but Dawn was having none of it.

"I'm wondering, whether you treated me badly because you couldn't stand looking at me, since I look a lot like my mother, or you couldn't look at me because every time you did that, you would see the face of the woman you betrayed. Which one is it, father?"

Tony was at a loss for words. He wanted to reach out to his daughter, telling her how sorry he was and how he regretted everything.
