A faintly loud exhale left Hael's lips as he walked outside the pilot room and headed back to his seat.
He had felt his heart at the top of his throat when he had been called, but he had been able to remain calm.
He had been able to get himself off the hook by using his brain.
One of the tactics he learned was making sure to detail every scene of his life as much as he could, painting a clear picture in the head of whoever asked him the questions.
It would have been suspicious if he had answered with a yes or no or had talked less, but talking more and painting the scene vividly would make his questioner believe he was really telling the truth, as such a detailed sequence can't be made up within a span of a few seconds.
Unfortunately, Hael had already planned it before he took the mission at all, as he knew well there was a chance of being caught.
