A Threat That Wasn't A Threat

As soon as Dr. Brown opened the door to Celine's bedroom, he met her lying on the bed with a duvet over her body. Instantly, his gaze darkened.

Today was their daughter's wedding and there were only less than two hours before the ceremony would start and here was the mother of the bride still sleeping in. What for?

Dr. Brown felt something heavy drop in his heart. The next moment, he matched into the room and walked straight to the bed.

"Celine! Celine!" He called out in a heavy tone as he nudged her gently by the shoulders as she wasn't responding to him. As soon as he touched her, her heavy lashes fluttered open.

"What is your problem?" She asked in a drowsy-pretend voice. "Why are you shouting for?"

Dr. Brown first released a deep breath to calm his nerves before answering that question with another question in return. "Are you being serious this morning?" He asked, spreading his arms.
