The Campus Belle's Affection

The young men suddenly clutched their heads, emitting a cry of agony, and collapsed to the ground. Adam felt a pang of remorse; he had just employed a psychic attack, otherwise, he might have been the one collapsing.

Yet Adam was somewhat worried; his psychic attack might have been too intense. He hoped that these three individuals wouldn't suffer any adverse consequences upon awakening.

"Ugh!" Adam spat at the fallen trio and then walked toward the middle-aged man.

"What do you intend to do, kid? If you dare touch me, I won't spare you!" The middle-aged man threatened, looking at Adam with a face full of fear.

"Don't worry, I won't harm you. Now tell me, who are you exactly? What's wrong with your leg? And why this charade?" Adam stared at the middle-aged man, a faint blue light flashing as he directly injected his psychic power into the man's mind.

"I'm Matthew, the boss around here. My leg is fine, it's all fake. That blood is pig's blood. I heard faking accidents could make quick money, so I brought a few guys to try our luck." Matthew said blankly.

Upon hearing Matthew's words, the surrounding people showed expressions of anger, their gazes filled with fury.

"The bastard dared to deceive us! Quick, call the police, we must not let him get away!" An angry middle-aged man said, still keeping his composure.

"Damn it! He tricked me, made me wrongly accuse a beauty, and missed the chance to pick up chicks. Today, I won't let him off!" A furious young man rushed forward and kicked Matthew.

"Why... why are you hitting me?" Matthew looked around at the people with horror, sensing their angry glares, suddenly feeling a sinister premonition.

"It must be you! What did you do to me?" Matthew looked at Adam with rage and fear in his voice.

"Heh, I did nothing, just made you spill the truth." Adam said calmly.

"Now that everyone knows the truth, step aside, and let everyone handle Matthew." Adam said to the surrounding people.

The crowd parted, allowing Adam to walk to the car and say to Nicole, "The situation's resolved, we can leave now."

"Thank you. Are you heading back to school? I can give you a ride." Nicole asked.

"Yes, that would be great. I won't refuse." Adam said as he got into the passenger seat.

As the car started, Nicole drove towards the school, while Matthew, amidst the fury of the crowd, would undoubtedly face severe punishment.

"I'm really grateful for today. If it weren't for you, I don't know what I would have done." Nicole said sentimentally as she drove.

"Heh, don't mention it. Being able to help the campus belle, I feel very honored," Adam replied with a smile.

"Anyway, I still have to thank you. By the way, I don't know your name yet," Nicole said somewhat shyly.

"I'm Adam, a sophomore in the Finance department," Adam smiled in response.

"I'm Nicole. From now on, we're friends. To thank you, I'd like to treat you to a meal," Nicole invited.

"Haha, I'm honored to be friends with the campus belle. But there's no need for a meal, I just did what I had to," Adam said modestly.

"How can you say that? I must treat you to a meal. Today has been too rushed, I still have classes. I'll call you when I find a suitable place. What's your phone number?" Nicole said.

"I lost my phone and haven't had a chance to replace it. Give me your number, and I'll call you when the time comes," Adam said.

"Alright, remember it, and make sure to call me," Nicole gave Adam her number.

"I'll remember, don't worry. I'll definitely call you," Adam said, and silence fell inside the car.

Nicole didn't know what to say to Adam, as she rarely spent time alone with boys. This was her first time being with a boy like this, so she felt a bit awkward.

Adam felt uneasy, as he needed to make money urgently; otherwise, he couldn't even afford to buy a phone. Thus, he remained silent, focusing on his thoughts.

Amidst a myriad of thoughts, he couldn't help but glance at Nicole's legs. They were close to each other, and Nicole's skirt was slightly short, perfectly displaying her slender legs before him. He could even faintly discern the curve beneath her skirt.

"Gulp." Adam subconsciously swallowed saliva, his gaze turning heated.

"No peeking!" Nicole felt Adam's intense gaze and her cheeks flushed, scolding loudly.

"Cough... um, the weather is indeed nice," Adam said awkwardly, shifting his gaze to the window.

"Stop the car!" Adam suddenly exclaimed, seeing a sign for a lottery station outside the car window. A thought struck him, a way to make money. With his clairvoyant ability, he was confident he could try it safely.

"Screech" the brakes sounded, and Nicole parked the car by the roadside.

"Why did you stop the car? I didn't yell at you earlier on purpose, nor was it because you were looking at me... I was just a bit anxious... Are you angry?" Nicole said somewhat aggrieved.

Adam immediately realized Nicole's misunderstanding and hurriedly explained.

"No, no, it was my fault just now. I asked you to stop the car because I saw a lottery station and wanted to buy some scratch cards to play," Adam explained.

"Just for that?" Nicole asked angrily.

"Yeah, just for that," Adam said reluctantly, feeling a bit embarrassed.

"Hmph! I'll forgive you this time. Let's go, I'll accompany you," Nicole said, giving Adam a disdainful look and speaking discontentedly.

The two got out of the car and headed toward the lottery station. Upon entering the shop, Adam walked straight to the counter.

"Young man, want to buy some scratch cards? The winning rate is pretty high," the shopkeeper greeted warmly.

"Um, can I choose them myself?" Adam asked.

"Of course, do you want the 2-dollar ones or the 5-dollar ones? We also have 10-dollar and 20-dollar ones, with higher corresponding prizes," the shopkeeper explained.

"Can I see what options you have?" Adam asked.

"Sure thing, they're all here. Take your time to choose," the shopkeeper said, placing a thick stack of scratch cards in front of Adam.

Adam looked at the scratch cards before him and scanned them with his psychic power. The contents of each scratch card appeared clearly in his mind, and a hint of joy flashed in his eyes.

Unexpectedly, his luck was so good. Among the stack of scratch cards, there were quite a few big prizes, including two worth ten thousand, one worth twenty thousand, and several worth two to three thousand. Of course, there were also some worth a few hundred or even tens of dollars, although most of them were not winning cards.

He locked his gaze on those big prize scratch cards. To avoid attracting attention, he first picked ten 2-dollar and 5-dollar scratch cards, four of which turned out to be winners.

"Boss, let me try my luck with these ten first, if I win, I'll continue," Adam handed the money to the shopkeeper.
