Chapter 112. Absurdity

"What happened, Eunha-ya?" Hyejin asked, concern etching her features as they finally reunited at the company and made their way back to the dorm together.

 

"Ugh, long story," Rachel sighed, leaning her body against the cool leather of the car seat, her eyes fluttering shut. The weight of the day pressed heavily on her, a mix of exhaustion and anxiety that felt almost suffocating.

 

Dahye sat in the front seat with the driver, while Hyejin and Rachel settled into the back of their group's van. Concern was growing in Hyejin's mind as she stared fixedly at Rachel. She picked up on a subtle change in their usual relationship—Rachel had consented to be called by her Korean name without complaint, which was strange and suggested there were deeper issues in Rachel's mind.

 

"Unnie, is it that bad?" Hyejin finally asked, her voice laced with concern as she turned to Dahye, hoping for some clarity.
