Arlo, having returned from the brink of death, found Avena and the others locked in combat with two monstrous creatures.
"Everyone, do as I say," Arlo commanded, his voice resonating with authority.
His companions turned to look at him, their eyes meeting his calm and determined gaze. They knew they had no choice but to trust him.
"Remi and Sophia, you two tackle the monster on the right. Avena and Dustin, you're on the left. Julian, provide cover for everyone until I give the signal," Arlo directed.
Avena mused, 'His strategy mirrors mine. Does Arlo truly have a plan up his sleeve?'
"Avena, Remi, aim for the monsters' eyes," Arlo instructed.
'Dammit, Arlo, we've already tried everything. What are you thinking?' Remi wondered, his mind a whirlwind of confusion.
Arlo reflected, "That's right, don't let those monsters think we've lost. For my strategy to succeed, we need to act as one, think as one, live as one."
"SWOOSH!"
