Chapter 121: The Man and The Myth, This Is Much Worse

Arlo, his gaze fixed on the black blood staining his sword, stepped out of the tent and posed a question,

"I am the one who hurt you, isn't it?"

Blaze met Arlo's gaze and refuted, "Father, as I've mentioned before, it was a bear."

Arlo gestured towards the blood on the sword and queried, "Then whose blood is this?"

"Bear's blood. I used your sword to hunt it, nothing more," Blaze fibbed.

"I see. I won't pry anymore. So, at ease, "Arlo declared, pivoting to return to the tent.

Before disappearing inside, he added, "The blood on the sword is black, Blaze. I know you're trying not to worry me. If I lose control again, save yourself. That's your priority, even if you have to kill me."

Arlo retreated into the tent and reclined on the floor mat to rest once more.

Blaze's fist tightened, his resolve firm. "Father, if the same thing happens again, I will protect you even if it costs me my life."
