Heavy Artillery

Seeing a girl crouched under the seat, everyone was dumbfounded.

"Oh, damn!" Teck moaned.

"What's going on?" Camellia's channel was now connected to everyone, so she heard Teck's voice.

"Nothing, just a girl," Virus replied cryptically.

"A girl?" Camellia exploded in anger. "I'm being chased, and you're worried about a girl? I am a girl!"

"It's not like that..." Nora tried to explain.

"Virus, I told you to give me the map, what are you doing?" Reno angrily turned back from driving, then he saw the brown-haired girl.

He was also dumbfounded. "Damn, where did she come from?"

"She came from the secret door." Claire helped the brown-haired girl out and looked below. "It should be a specialized safe."

Clearly, the misunderstanding caused by the "borrowing the car" incident led the girl to hide in the safe, and she wasn't discovered.

"Soundproof?" Reno asked.

"Apparently not, it's not soundproof," Claire inspected the secret door, giving everyone a disappointing answer.

"Damn it!" They all shouted together.

Not being soundproof meant the girl had heard what they had just said.

Now, they were in trouble.

They looked at each other, unsure of what to do.

"I say we kill her to keep her quiet," Teck said, his voice full of hostility.

"Shut up, Teck. The girl probably didn't hear much and might not know who we are," Claire said.

"But now she at least knows my name is Teck," Teck retorted angrily.

"The more you discuss, the more she knows," Nava chimed in.

"The more you discuss, the faster I die. Please, forget about the girl!" Camellia shouted hoarsely over the channel.

"I'm flying! Virus, the map?" Reno yelled.

Virus frantically sent the information, "Found it, I've located Camellia, sending you the route!"

Reno glanced at the map, and the flying car made a sharp turn, indicating his frustration with a wide arc.

"Boss, what about the girl?" Modi asked.

"Leave her, let's save Camellia first!" Reno replied.

"What about that person?" Teck asked.

"Shove her back in!" Reno felt himself losing patience.

Teck reached out, pushed the girl who had just been helped out by Claire back into the secret passage. The girl struggled desperately, yelling, "Let me go!"

But there was no way she could overpower Teck. He pushed her into the box and sat on top.

Virus covered his face. "Now we're in trouble. I knew, a problem at the beginning means there will be more problems later. A wrong start always leads to wrong steps!"

"Enough, Virus, stop being so nagging like a woman," Teck said impatiently. "Besides, things might not be all that bad. Sometimes there's good news."

"What good news could there be?" Virus gave up.

Teck grinned and pointed at himself. "The good news is under my butt."

Virus misunderstood Teck's meaning. "You disgusting fellow."

Teck snorted and stood up, grabbing his seat cushion and lifting it up. There was also a secret door under his seat.

But behind this secret door was a gigantic fire god cannon. The huge gun was thicker than a person, with a variable caliber barrel suitable for various types of ammunition, equipped with a grenade launcher, laser guidance, thermal tracking, and many other accessories, powerful and packed with boxes of bullets underneath.

"Oh my God!" They all exclaimed.

"How did you know there was something down there?" Nava asked strangely.

"An excellent soldier's intuition." Teck grabbed the fire god cannon.

The cannon was surprisingly large, not the kind for mechs or aircraft. From the configuration, it seemed to be for human use. But when Teck lifted it in front of him, the massive barrel almost blocked his entire body, making it look like he was carrying a giant hammer, and the long chain of bullets extended all the way into the bottom of the box.

It was fortunate that Teck had the strength to lift it; otherwise, no one else could. It's hard to imagine who would need such a fire god cannon.

"Come on, he just smelled the gun oil and knew there was a gun down there," Marsha exposed Teck's bluff.

Teck blushed. "Hey, you little rascal, using mind-reading on your own people isn't a good habit!"

Marsha snorted and turned her head away, ignoring him.

Now it was Claire's turn to cover her face. "Now the hostage even knows about mind-reading... You guys just don't want to let her go, do you?"

"We just feel like it doesn't matter anymore," Teck shrugged.

Just then, the car suddenly shook violently. Amidst a huge impact, everyone saw the flying car smashing through the glass of a large building and speeding through the corridor, heading straight ahead.

"What are you doing? Boss!" Teck exclaimed in shock.

"Taking a shortcut," Reno replied.

"But that's very likely to cause an accident. Not every glass is easy to break!" Teck shouted.

Reno replied, "As you said, it doesn't matter anyway."

Everyone: "..."

The car flew through the corridor like a dart, piercing through floors, and emerged on the distant street. The two red dots on the map were finally getting closer.

Wang Yile drove the flying car swiftly through the traffic, with beams of light shooting at them from behind. Occasionally, the beams grazed past his car, sometimes hitting nearby vehicles, causing them to plummet with black smoke rising.

If it weren't for the energy boost, they might have been finished by now.

Nevertheless, under the relentless pursuit of numerous flying cars, Wang Yile gradually couldn't hold on anymore, and the worst part was that his energy was depleting.

"Damn, when will the commander arrive?" Seeing the energy running out, Wang Yile couldn't help but shout.

"He's already here." From a nearby building, Reno appeared driving a car. "Teck, use your new toy to give them a good time."

"Yes, boss!" Teck grinned and emerged from the skylight, holding the oversized fire god cannon.

Aiming the cannon at the approaching flying cars from afar, Teck muttered, "Wishing you a happy time, darlings!"

He fired!

The thunderous roar of the gun instantly ignited the entire street. The stream of bullets surged out like an iron dragon, with immense force almost throwing Teck out, but he managed to stop the momentum just in time. The barrage stabilized, speeding towards the front.

Compared to the mech artillery on the Gigastone, Teck's fire god cannon didn't have the terrifying speed of 48,000 rounds per second, but it still could fire 6,000 rounds per second.

The tremendous recoil pounded Teck's body like a heavy hammer. If someone with a weaker physique had been hit, they might have been killed on the spot. But Teck didn't care at all; instead, he became even more excited. He shouted, "I just love real weapons! Despite being primitive and simple, sometimes simple is the most beautiful. Compared to that, high-energy weapons are just too monotonous and lack excitement. Real men need this kind of brute, wild stuff! Hahaha!"

He laughed heartily, wildly pulling the trigger to fire, and the stream of bullets converged in the air, descending like a torrential iron curtain.

One fireball after another erupted in the sky.

Under Teck's barrage, the pursuing enemies didn't even qualify for a crash.

Teck didn't even get a clear look at what the enemies chasing Camellia looked like; all the pursuers were wiped out.

He stopped, and the fire god cannon reluctantly stopped turning after many rounds, emitting hot currents.

Taking out a cigar and placing it at the muzzle, the cigar slowly ignited.

Putting the cigar in his mouth, Teck took a deep drag, letting out a hearty laugh. He wasn't afraid of burning as he patted the gun barrel and said, "Good gun, hits the spot!"

Then he hugged the cannon back to his seat.

Looking at everyone, they were all staring at him dumbfoundedly.

"Why are you all looking at me?" Teck asked.

"Nothing. Just congratulations on finding a treasure," Reno chuckled.

The flying car turned its head and flew in the other direction. "The crisis is over, prepare to retreat... We need to change hotels."

PS:

I won't explain this in the book, so I'll explain the setup here.

Laser guns, Gauss guns, and similar weapons are collectively referred to as energy weapons and are the mainstream weapons of the Space Age. However, conventional firearms still exist.

The advantage of conventional firearms lies in their low cost, high rate of fire, and strong killing power. An attack of thousands of bullets per second has a much greater coverage and killing power than imagined.

The characteristic of high-energy weapons lies in their long range, high precision, excellent armor-piercing effect, and applicability to various scenarios, without discrepancy. In simple terms, as long as there are enough laser guns and Gauss guns, even starships can be shot down. Therefore, soldiers with energy weapons are like infantry in StarCraft, capable of dealing with a lot.

If it were conventional ammunition, shooting a hundred billion rounds of bullets wouldn't have any impact on a starship, so soldiers with conventional firearms are like infantry without anti-aircraft capabilities.

This is the distinction between the two types of weapons.

Of course, some friends may say that high-energy weapons can also have great power, such as firing a mushroom cloud with one shot.

I admit that theoretically, future technology can achieve this.

But I want to remind you.

First, if such weapons exist, they are not called guns, they are called cannons.

Second, even if a gun can be made to that extent in reality, it will not allow ordinary infantry to use such weapons. Because it means that any infantryman can destroy half a planet with one frenzy.

Therefore, technology can be unlimited, but people still need to set limits.

Of course, these two points are just explanations, not truths.

For me, the real reason is that if individual weapons can have the power of a nuclear attack, then the world can't be mixed anymore, and all tactics will lose their meaning, such as Reno's initial confrontation with the Secret Police, which would be a joke.

With slightly less power, the spear and shield are roughly balanced, leaving room for technical play.
