[Nana and Xixi 203]

Jun Ye clasped her hand in his.

"Brother," she said with unease, looking at him.

He had never seen her so helpless; it was clear how terrified she was inside.

He held her hand, not squeezing, just enveloping it, his voice very cold, "Do you remember what I've told you before?"

She must give birth herself. If she couldn't, he would not be responsible for any potential consequences for the child.

Cold, icy gazes shot out steadily from his eyes, making her feel as though the one about to face death wasn't her but him.

She struggled to move her eyeballs to look elsewhere. Dr. Yao was measuring her blood pressure, his face expressionless, as if wearing a mask.

If everything around her was cold, she had no choice but to be cold too. Now, the chill emanating from the two of them reached her, gradually lowering her anxious nerves. Without the agitation to mask it, the pain inside her grew more and more distinct.

It hurt, terribly, the pain coming in waves, growing fiercer and faster.
