Chapter 1241: Ancient Emperor’s Cave House_1

"Xu Ran." Zi Yan's eyes had been fixed on Xu Ran ever since he took her hand and had not left him.

"Hmm? What's wrong?" Xu Ran was somewhat unaccustomed to Zi Yan's gentle and serene demeanor, preferring the lively and unrestrained Zi Yan he was used to. The current Zi Yan seemed somewhat strange, especially the way she looked at him...

This girl...

"What is a god?" Zi Yan asked softly, lips pursed as she had already formed a speculation in her heart. A god should be an existence that transcends a Dou Sheng, that is... the legendary Dou Di!

Dou Di!

Could it be that Xu Ran is a Dou Di!

Even though it was hard to believe, various pieces of evidence proved that Xu Ran was indeed the legendary Dou Di.

"Don't you already have the answer in your heart? Yes, I am a Dou Di," Xu Ran said with a smile, directly addressing her query.

"Dou Di, it really is a Dou Di. I thought it was impossible for a Dou Di to appear on the Continent, but there really are Dou Di in this world!" Zi Yan's voice trembled with her words.

On the Continent, a Dou Di had always been a legendary existence. If a Dou Sheng was considered an unparalleled expert, then a Dou Di was seen by everyone as supreme and almost impossible to exist – a god.

Legend had it that a Dou Di possessed supreme power, their strength defying the heavens, capable of destroying worlds. Even if all the other powerful beings on the Continent were to unite, they would not match the strength of a single Dou Di. Such was the terrifying nature of a Dou Di.

How fortunate she was to have encountered a Dou Di, and such an approachable one at that! Should she consider herself lucky, or just lucky?

"Hee hee. Soul Hall has truly courted disaster by offending you. They used to be quite powerful on the Continent." Zi Yan smiled sweetly, her anticipation for what would happen to Soul Hall evident.

She supposed she was the only one who knew Xu Ran was a Dou Di. Soul Hall, unaware of the truth, would probably send even more powerful experts for revenge, but their end would not differ much from those two Heavenly Venerates of the Soul Hall.

And so, the landscape of the entire Continent would change because of this.

"Xu Ran, I must be the first person to know your identity, right?" Zi Yan asked, cocking her head to look at him, her excitement clearly overflowing.

"It's almost that way. I've mentioned it to Xun Er and the others, but they didn't believe me, so what could I do? Thus, you are the first to know that I am a Dou Di," Xu Ran said, pinching Zi Yan's cute little nose endearingly.

"That's good to hear. If only I know your identity, then I can cling to your coattails. Dou Di, you wouldn't neglect this young lady, right? You should at least help me achieve Dou Sheng. Dou Di are omnipotent; with a flick of your finger, you could make me a Dou Sheng right now," Zi Yan asked with some anticipation.

She had heard many legends about the Dou Di. In her heart, a Dou Di was a god, and god was omnipotent.

"What are you thinking? In this world, everyone must abide by rules, and even a Dou Di cannot disregard those rules. A Dou Di can only influence some rules, not be omnipotent. If I were to help you become a Dou Sheng, unless you're willing to give up any chance of a proper breakthrough in the future, it's better not to think about it."

"With your talent and aptitude, becoming a Dou Sheng is just a matter of time. It's better to take it slowly and not always want to have it all at once. I won't be able to help you," Xu Ran said irritably.

"Oh. Alright." Zi Yan pouted, clearly disappointed as her suggestion was rejected. However, she understood her idea was nothing more than a pipe dream. Xu Ran might be capable of helping her become a Dou Sheng in an instant, but she would inevitably pay a heavy price. If she became a Dou Sheng now, future breakthroughs would be troublesome, so it might be better to cultivate at her own pace. Now that she knew Xu Ran was a Dou Di, she no longer had to worry about asking him for elixirs in the future.

With a Dou Di like that, it was impossible for her cultivation path to go astray.

Having a Dou Di as one's cultivation mentor was something that even a Dou Sheng would drool with envy over.

"Xu Ran, we're still friends, right?" Zi Yan felt that Xu Ran had become a Dou Di now, and suddenly there was a chasm-like gap between them, making her much more reserved in Xu Ran's presence.

In front of a Dou Di, being carefree would just show a complete lack of sensitivity.

"Is it just friendship you're hoping for?" Xu Ran teased as he looked at Zi Yan's delicate and snowy face, unable to explain why, but he suddenly felt somewhat restless. This girl had beauty that was truly exceptional.

Especially when he thought of the fan-fiction scenarios he had seen in the past, cough cough, those dirty scenes emerged in his mind.

"If it's something else, that's also fine."

Zi Yan's cheeks turned red, and she dared not look directly into Xu Ran's eyes, her voice as tiny as a mosquito's buzz.

"Why are you looking at me like that? This damn lava still hasn't been crossed, it's like there's no end to it." Zi Yan, embarrassed by Xu Ran's gaze, quickly looked for another topic to divert his attention.

"Beneath the lava there is another space, the Ancient Emperor's Cave House is right inside."

"Buzz!"

As Xu Ran's palm touched the stretch of lava, the latter actually rippled, and Xu Ran's palm disappeared as if it had entered a spatial fold.

Xu Ran and Zi Yan stepped inside, into a vast space of darkness and silence. It was unknown how many eons of time this space had been quiet, the entire space was permeated with an ancient, time-worn aura.

Xu Ran's gaze slowly swept across the space, and where he looked, it was empty, not a single place of strangeness.

Xu Ran flew through this empty space with Zi Yan in his arms, and after several minutes, he suddenly paused, his gaze fixating on a distant place, where, faintly, a glimmer of light appeared.

Xu Ran and Zi Yan directly passed through the light.

It was a stone door, a massive stone door tens of thousands of feet tall!

The stone door stood quietly in the boundless space, as if it had existed forever, an ancient, wild aura slowly emanating from it, rippling through this world.

In front of the stone door was a similarly massive square, and Xu Ran and Zi Yan stood far away from the ancient stone door, looking around at the strange sights within the dark space.

"Ancient Emperor's Cave House!"

The ancient script was not too ornate, yet within its plainness, there was an endless majesty that seemed to reign over heaven and earth!

Looking at the massive, ancient square, Zi Yan had somehow already hidden herself in Xu Ran's embrace. The aura of ancient majesty here made her feel somewhat terrified.

But at the same time, her blood seemed to be flowing extremely fast, as if it had been summoned. Furthermore, her heart surged with an incredibly familiar feeling.
