Chapter 52: It Him Again

Brenda rushed into the bustling supermarket, her mind focused solely on getting her shopping done quickly and efficiently. She grabbed a basket and hurried down the brightly lit aisles, weaving between other shoppers with practiced ease, not paying careful attention to where she was going.

Suddenly, without warning, she collided head-on with someone coming the opposite way, the force of the impact sending their items tumbling unceremoniously to the tiled floor in a cacophonous clatter.

"Oh, I'm so sorry!" Brenda gasped, her cheeks flushing with embarrassment as she immediately bent down to try and gather the fallen goods. "I wasn't watching where I was going at all."

"No worries at all, I've got it," a deep, smooth male voice replied with an air of nonchalance.

As Brenda reached for the scattered items, the stranger crouched down beside her, his movements self-assured and unhurried. "Aren't you Brenda Thomas?" he asked casually.
