Chapter 66: Corporate Tempest

There was a knock at the door and it opened shortly after.

"Sorry, I forgot my phone," Dough whispered as he slinked back in, catwalk-style, to retrieve it. 

Liam glared at him while Alex barred his path. "Just let the weasel get his damn phone so he can crawl back under his rock. He isn't worth your time."

Dough sneered at them both. "Don't worry, you won't have to put up with me much longer. But give me a call when you come to your senses about this deal. I will be generous with you and give you the best deal ever." He brushed past Alex contemptuously. 

"Watch yourself, punk!" Alex shouted after him.

Dough paused at the door and turned back with a cruel smile. "No, you watch yourselves. This whole situation is gonna blow up in your smug faces soon enough. This is not a threat but a promise." 

He slammed the door behind him. Alex rounded on Liam, fists clenched. "I should've knocked that little snitch out cold when I had the chance!"
