Weird dreams

**Adam Walker's POV**

In a void stood a being so immense that said being dwarfed galaxies even. The being stood serene and graceful or is it float because it doesn't seem to be standing on anything or at least I thought it wasn't since I couldn't even see it's legs, and that's if it had one.

All I could see was a blurry figure of immense size that looked like the silhouette of a human. Then suddenly, something changed, a being of equal proportions materialized before the first being.

After the second being materialized, there was silence fr a few moments before a voice boomed; "You've decided to do it after all" it was the second being who spoke first but I couldn't tell if it was male or female but from the way the voice boomed, I attributed it to male.

"I have no choice, reality is falling apart" The first being spoke in an equally...no in a more booming tone. 'Reality, what reality?' I thought.

"But is it worth it?" asked the second being.

"Sometimes, you just have to forcefully force it to be worth it" replied the first being.

"So be it" spoke the second being before light engulfed everything.

"Sigh, it's a new one" with a sigh, I woke up from the dreams I've been having the past two days. The past three days was the day we did the virtual test. As I came back to have a nice relaxing sleep, I started having dreams, there were two different ones and this was the third one.

The time was around fifteen minutes to five so I stood up from my unbelievable comfortable bedding to freshen up. I reached the combat grounds around just a minute to five.

"You were almost late" spoke the man with a scar.

"But I wasn't" I replied.

"I have something to say" I spoke.

"Shoot".

"I want to drop the katana, I don't think it suits me". Silence engulfed the entire combat ground after I said my piece. It's not something I said out of the blue, I've thought about it or let me rephrase that, I've been thinking about it for a long time.

Three days ago,

"Guess it must have been delayed to let everyone come out at the same time or anyone eliminated was made to stay unconscious" I thought. "Man your death was epic" I heard Owen gloating behind him.

"Oh come on, I almost got away with it" I shrugged in an even tone.

"It wasn't almost, you would definitely have gotten away with it if it was anyone but Aurora" Owen said in a matter of factly tone.

"Attention cadets, follow me" an instructor I did not recognize came and said to the...well cadets.

We followed her to another hall, what's with this academy and halls anyway. When we all gathered in the hall, several instructors came in among them I recognized only a few.

"Look at this cadets, your rankings" as soon as he finished speaking, a hologram appeared in front of us.

Well Aurora took first place in individual rankings, well deserved. I was surprisingly fifth rank and Owen at fifteenth rank, Ashley took the second rank followed by emo dude then Quinn and Lily tied for fourth rank and Victor took the tenth rank.

And for team rankings, due to only Aurora and Owen being by the golden beacon by the time the test was over, team nine got first place, and my team was surprisingly in third place.

Given the stunt I had thrown, I had expected second place. I guess some idiot decided to hide far away until his/her elimination was claimed by the boundary. And for that to happen it had to be after my elimination.

"My team got first place" Owen shouted but no one bothered to spare him a glance except; "But you got the fifteenth rank individually" Ashley's crisp voice sounded behind him. He almost got a seizure from the way he jumped.

"Stop sneaking on me" he said exasperatedly. "Gladly, when you learn to shut your foul mouth".

Seeing them bickering, I tacitly stepped aside leaving them alone until the instructors dismissed us.

It was after we got to the dorms that I got thinking about the usefulness of the katana compared to the makeshift daggerbi used during the test. The katana more often than not has been shot out of my hand when fighting, the first time, I was fighting that asura and the second time when I was fighting the black robed man.

But the dagger I used in the virtual test served me well. This the decision to change weapons.

I got inside the bathroom as usual, and entered the tub for my hot bath when I felt something inside me moving. I examined my bloodline plane and what I observed secreted a dose of joy into my being.

The bottleneck was broken. "Peak silver here I come".

I wanted to breakthrough that instant as I felt I could even reach gold rank, but decided not to in the end. I eventually decided on consulting with instructor blake. Bloodline cultivation is a rather delicate art, and I didn't even know that when breaking through to gold rank, one would have to form a core anywhere in their body.

The core would form a link between the physical and the metaphysical realm. Meaning it would connect your bloodline to the physical world. Once an individual enters gold rank, the method of cultivation changes from condensing your bloodline to absorbing natural energy from the world to feed your core and through the link, the energy extends to your bloodline.

After hearing that I realized how stupid I had been to attempt to use nexus stones to further my bloodline upgrade and why it didn't work, there was no way for the energy of the nexus stones to meet the bloodline.

Oy those from gold rank above are able to use nexus stones.

It wasn't until last week that Ms Evelyn taught us about it, at least the so called commoners, as I'm pretty sure that all the clan heirs knew about it. So I very well came to understand the value of the academies.
