"Yes" I said while Owen nodded. "Good send it to this account" she said giving us the code. As soon as I sent it, I watched as my heart bled, my over seventy two thousand reduce to only a bit above twenty two thousand points.
After we sent it, she disappeared just as silently as she had appeared.
"Weird girl, how did she know where to find us?" I muttered.
Then I turned to Owen who looked as if he wanted to cry and asked; "Hey while are you still moping? you had just about the same amounts of points as I had so you could have gotten yourself a better dish but you insisted that I treat".
"Oh I'm long over that, the only thing that saddens me currently is that fifty thousand points are gone just like that".
"Suck it up, let's go" I said giving him a pat.
The next day, "As you all know, your mid term written exams are starting tomorrow" Ms Evelyn started. "You all should know that it takes, twenty five percent of the terms total, while the field exam would take the rest of the seventy five".
I wasn't particularly bothered about the written exams, theory has never bothered me before, hell if I even try, I could score full marks. But I kinda felt pity for the guy beside me who looked like he had eaten shit.
"What's wrong?" I asked. "The written exam, that's what's wrong. Can't we just do only field exams?" Owen complained.
"Come on, it's not that bad" I consoled. "Speak for yourself, you're a nerd" he scoffed before he lit up and said; "wait, maybe you could tutor me?"
"Nope, not doing that" I instantly shot him down. "Why?"
"What do you mean why? I've got things to do".
"Please!?"
"No"
"Please?"
"No"
I didn't have anything against giving him some tips but tutoring, I already have enough on my plate right now with all the training and stuff and I didn't want to add anything else to my already tight schedule.
But his "please!?" was starting to get annoying so I decided to divert him away. "How about you go ask Ashley? She seems idle" I said but as soon as I finished my words, a certain golden haired girl shot us a glare.
In the combat class, "please!?"
"No"
"Please!?"
"No"
"Please!?"
"No"
"Come on, just for an hour, a day before each subject" he bargained.
"Uh, fine, you're so annoying, but in that one hour, you have to do as I say and it's from eight to nine pm" I replied finally being fed up with his "please!?"
"Understood" he answered without missing a beat.
The first subject we had tomorrow was mathematical sciences . In total I offered mathematical sciences, Alchemy, Alien races, Geography and coordinates, History, Piloting, mechanics and last but not least, homeroom which is about cultivation. The school doesn't teach survival, in their words, you have to learn to survive by yourself.
So in total that makes nine. Time went on as usual and by 8 pm sharp, I heard a knock on my door. 'Looks like he's here' I thought to myself. Giving the command to open the door, I saw a gloomy looking Owen.
"What's with the gloomy face?" I asked in curiosity. "Nothing, just dread of what I have to face" he answered.
"Let's get started" I said as my table beamed a holographic board.
A few moments later, "Argh, what the hell are all this equations? How do they expect someone to learn all this?"
"Argh, I'm tired of this shit" Owen complained once again half an hour into our session. "If you're tired just leave" I said.
"Well now I'm not leaving" he snorted.
Half an hour later, "damn, it's like I've been through hell and back" Owen whined. "See you tomorrow" he said as he walked outside my dorm. "Yeah see you" I replied.
The week passed by, with Owen coming to my room every night (wait, that sounds wrong) and us writing the exams the following day. Today was Friday, I had finished my last written exam which I aced by the way if I do say so myself. Owen? not so much.
But right now, I was by the crystal lake, the field exam was in three days, that is Monday. So I had to train longer than before even though it was getting unbearably difficult suppressing my bloodline which makes it so I have to decrease the use of my bloodline abilities.
So to make up for it, I was instead refining my control on my energy and some martial arts. Because I couldn't use my bloodline my bloodline abilities too much, I had to run all the way here from the dorms with my physical strength. The last time I did that, was when I was still in peak iron.
The next day, I woke up before 5am as usual and headed for the combat grounds. Just as I emerged from the portal, instructor Blake whisked me away like he's been doing the past few days. Only unlike the past few days, I've gotten accustomed to it but still,
"Could you stop doing that?" I asked hopefully. "Not until it stops making you dizzy I won't" the man replied.
So I resigned myself to fate. Today once again like the past few days, I had to climb the mountain with my bloodline nullified. I've been reducing the time needed from five hours the first time I climbed to two hours forty minutes yesterday.
And I plan to lower the time today. It all depends on which way I follow. Anyway after a grueling two hours of climbing I reached the top. I found inspector Blake meditating under a tree.
"Still not fast enough" he snorted with one eye open. "Take this" he said throwing me a box of about thirty five cm in length. Catching the box, I asked; "what's in this?"
"Open it and find out"
I did as he said and opened the box, inside I found a dagger completely identical to mine with obsidian hilt and ivory blade. "It's a gold ranked dagger I commissioned for you and it also has a special skill" he commented. "I'll meet you after the field exam and one more thing, don't die" he said before disappearing.
