**Adam Walker's POV**
"Honey, get up, or you're going to be late!?" I heard my mother's voice just outside my room. Wait, my mother!? a thought came to my mind but vanished just as quickly as it came.
"Ahhh, five more minutes mom!?" I groaned. "You've been saying that for the past half an hour" my mother chided. With a sigh I opened my eyes and unwrapped myself from the covers just in time to see my mother entering my room.
Her glossy chestnut eyes gazing at me with a graceful smile on her heart shaped face and her navy blue hair flowing in soft waves, all in all she was extremely beautiful. I got my looks and hair from her afterall. Sometimes, I wonder how my father managed to land her in the first place.
While my father wasn't exactly ugly, I would say he's average, his mesmerizing azure eyes were his only redeeming quality, looks wise.
"Good morning mom" I greeted. "Awwww, my baby will be gone for a whole four months" she cooked, enveloping me in a soul crushing hug. "Ugh, mom you're killing me" I let out.
"Oh sorry, I'm just so sad that my baby is leaving, you've never slept out since you were born and now you're going away for a whole four months" she pouted.
Yep that is my mother, over pampering and over protective. "I'm not a baby, I'm sixteen" I replied. "You'll always be my baby no matter what age!" she shouted and gave me a knock. And this was the other side of my mom, fiery and violent.
"Now freshen up and come down, breakfast' almost ready and you're leaving at noon, even though I absolutely don't want you to go" she said, her voice faltering at the end. There she goes again, my mother, being so dramatic but I love her with all my heart.
Today, was the start and entrance exams of the nine academies, I was going to apply to Nebula Academy but my mother vehemently refused and instead made me apply to Polaris academy which apparently would be much safer in her opinion.
Within a few minutes, I was done freshening up, and went downstairs. My father was sitting at the dining. "Good morning dad" I greeted. "What's up ma dude?" My father replied. This was my father, and also my best friend.
My mother always says and I quote "it's like I'm raising two kids at the same time" meaning my father and I.
"Adam" my father called in a whisper. "What? why are you whispering?" I whispered back. "Your mom has been in a mood since yesterday. She's sad that you're leaving today" he replied.
"I know" I said. "I think I've got a solution to that" my father said with his azure blue eyes glinting with mischievousness. "Do not do it" I whispered back while shaking my head but it was for naught as my father already started.
"Helen"
"Helen" he started calling my mother.
"What wrong Julius? why are you screaming my name?" my mother came from the kitchen with our breakfast.
"Um....nothing, I just want to say since you're sad about Adam leaving today, how about we work hard and give him a little sibling to cheer him up?" he said with a sheepish smile but my mother wasn't having any of it. "Julius Henry Walker" she thundered.
"It was Adam's idea, just saying" my father threw me under the bus. I began to shake my head but before I could even open my mouth, "Adam Julius Walker".
After my mother's little outburst, we sat down for breakfast. Soon we were all laughing as my parents continued their bantering. Though i was also feeling a little bit of sadness but I didn't know why.
"The real me, what was she like?" I was laughing after my father cracked a joke when my mother asked me a question that dragged me back to reality.
'What real her? who was i'. Then it hit me faster and harder than a bullet train on steroids, Its been approximately nine years since I found myself here. I embraced this illusion wholeheartedly but deep down, I knew, I knew it was all an illusion created from my memories and I just didn't want to wake up to reality.
My parents, the familiar house, the joy and banter, it was all that could have happened if ...
Anyway forget that, thinking about how I ended here,
**Unknown time ago**
"Who cares about any direction? Let's just fly at full speed in any direction and kill any asura we encounter" Owen said.
Then we did as he said, we picked a random direction and took off in full speed. Three days passed in no time. During these three days, we encountered lots of Asuras who we eliminated. Though most were in silver rank and below, we also encountered some at the early and mid gold rank, though none at the peak gold rank.
"Dude, where did you learn how to cook?" Owen asked as he was finishing a kebab I made from small rabbit like beast we captured.
"Do you want to know who taught me?" I asked. "Of course, if there's a chance, I'll try to learn".
"Okay listen carefully, there are two teachers who taught me how to cook and their names are, 'Trial and Error'" I responded with a straight face.
"What!?" I asked seeing Owen throwing me a deadpan look. "You know what....nothing" he sighed. What did he mean nothing? That look clearly meant something.
After we finished eating, I packed everything back into my storage including the rest of the of the kebab. "Hey I wasn't done eating yet" Owen protested.
"Let's go" I simply said ignoring his protests. As I took in the surroundings, I realized that the buildings were extravagant, ruined but undeniably extravagant. It looks like we did choose the right direction after all.
We continued on foot until the buildings around us were starting to get scarce, I immediately felt something was wrong, I turned to look at Owen and coincidentally, he also turned to signal me.
Seeing that we both smiled or at least I thought I did. Soon there were no more buildings and before us stood a large ruined palace like structure that was unnaturally silent.
