Chapter 14: Poltergeists And Lifelines, Caught In A Sudden Quake

"Hello there viewers...Keiko here again...*I proceed to say this, while traditionally bowing to the viewers like last chapter. Before once again bringing both my eyesight, as well as my full attention back up again, in order to continue to address the viewers*...Now then viewers...we will now head right into the current chapter...So viewers, with this in mind, lets begin then...hmm?...*I proceed to say this, while smiling with both of my eyes closed, and my head, tilted to one side, in a very cute looking manner*"

August 2, 2009 (In The Early Morning)

It had all started off with a moderate sized nighttime earthquake, that had actually wound up disrupting Mitsuko Kongo from studying.

But, even after the earthquake had subsided, Mitsuko's teacup mysteriously fell down from her desk, which was followed along with her entire doll collection floating around.

But, even though the earthquake had now safely subsided. This wasn't going to be the only time, that this would happen, over the next few coming days.

Later in the day, which was just around midday. Uiharu wound up getting informed by someone named Daigo. Who was apparently a friend of hers, that she was getting a new roommate. And it was a transfer student named Erii Haruue.

However, when I was first introduced to Erii later that day. I had noticed something very peculiar about her. Sometimes, she seemed to be staring off into space for some odd reason.

But for the moment, I had decided to push this to the side. Which given what was going to happen not too long from now. Was going to be a mistake. In fact, Erii, was about to become far more important, then any of us would ever even begin to realize.

And, while me, and Misaka, then took Erii out, in order to show her around. And as for Uiharu, Kuroko, and Konori? Well they had to attend a meeting held by a Therestina Kihara Lifeline. Who from the little bit of information that I was told about her from Kuroko, was part of something called the "Multi Active Rescue." Or MAR for short. Apparently, she was involved in studying about earthquake-like incidents called "Poltergeists."

"Which for those who don't know...Oh right, Keiko here again viewers...*I proceed to say this, while traditionally bowing to the viewers like last chapter. Before once again bringing both my eyesight, as well as my full attention back up again, in order to continue to address the viewers*...Now then viewers...as I was about to explain to all of you...A Poltergeist, is a sort of earthquake...but not exactly and earthquake, as it is usually caused, by multiple espers, simultaneously losing control of their abilities...And this viewers...is something, that is going to become more prevalent, as the next few chapters in this story will wind up showing you all...But anyway viewers...I think that that is enough of my fourth wall breaks...Well, at least for now viewers...But, what you say, that we get on with the chapter now...okay?...*I proceed to say this, while smiling with both of my eyes closed, and my head, tilted to one side, in a very cute looking manner*"

Anyway, so fourth wall breaking aside, at least for the current moment. And a little later in the evening, me, Misaka, and Kuroko wound up skipping out on our curfew. This was in order to celebrate Erii's arrival, with Saten and Konori at the local fireworks festival.

​The only thing that I hadn't taken into account, was that we would all be wearing very beautiful looking Kimonos. Something, that though I wasn't used to wearing it, I seemed to be able to get it on and wear it, without too much trouble. And the reason for this? Well that was probably due to all of the other anime that I had watched before winding up here, that had just so happened to feature Kimono scenes in them. 

And as for my Kimonos color? Well, like my long mane of beautiful hair, the Kimono, was also a light blue sort of color. And it had a pattern of fancy, detailed, and decorative, snowflakes on it.

And to be completely honest, it really was quite beautiful. And also, it was also quite comfortable to wear as well.

But, getting back to the current situation. And as the fireworks display now proceeded to begin...

"I just don't know what it is, but fireworks are just so beautiful at night," I said, as I proceeded to marvel at the very beautiful fireworks. As they proceeded to light up the sky, in a very beautiful array of colors and various patterns.

"I agree Keiko, you are indeed right, they truly are very beautiful," Misaka said in response. Which was as we, along with everyone else that was present, gazed up at the fireworks.

And, as I briefly turned, to look at Misaka, I then realized something. "I never really appreciated just how rewarding it is, to see Misaka smile...And for the record viewers...she is my sister, and nothing more, so don't go jumping to any weird or perverted conclusions okay?!...I mean, after all viewers....with what is going to soon wind up happening in the next few chapters...I think that you will find..." I thought to myself. Which while I was having this thought, I had briefly turned my attention, slightly to the left of me, in order to briefly address the viewers.

However, at that very moment, another Poltergeist incident then proceeded to occur, which wound up splitting the ground into several sudden cracks near Uiharu and Erii. And this very sudden incident, had caused my current thought based fourth wall break to the viewers. To then suddenly be forced to a stop mid thought.

But thankfully, they were then saved from a falling lamppost by Therestina. Who I then noticed, was currently suited up in a large looking sort of mech.

And it was then, that we all slowly realized what had just happened. But, as for what lay ahead regarding the timeline. It was now, only a matter of time now, before we would all need to prepare ourselves.

"And isn't that the truth viewers...Oh right, Keiko here again viewers...*I proceed to say this, while traditionally bowing to the viewers. Before once again bringing both my eyesight, as well as my full attention back up again, in order to continue to address the viewers*...Now then viewers...this is now the end of this particular chapter...But more importantly viewers...it now brings us one more chapter closer, to the impending crossover portion of this fanfic...And as for what this crossover entails?...Well viewers...like I said last chapter...if I were to tell you any of what is still too come, then it would defeat the purpose of it enticing you all enough to want to read on in this fanfic...So then viewers...I shall see you lot in the next chapter...okay?...*I proceed to say this, while smiling with both of my eyes closed, and my head, tilted to one side, in a very cute looking manner*"
