Berkah allowed himself to decline toward the center of the thousands who gathered, nearly all of them weeping and expressing their gratitude.
He looked at their expressions and smiled as they embraced one another and celebrated hope, their fears and despair washed away by their tears.
[So this is what you fought for, Dad...]
Berkah's eyes became glassy as he now somewhat understood why his father fought so desperately for the people.
[I may not be as righteous as you, or as heroic, nor will I ever be, but I'll do my best, so please watch over me...]
He raised his gaze to the heavens, beyond the circling Wyverns, and the fleeting clouds above.
"Thank you so much..."
The voice of a man snapped him out of his daze, prompting him to turn his attention back to the people surrounding him.
The man in question carried two of his children in his arms, tears gushing from his eyes.
