Letter: 38

I snuck out Joey's house through the back window.I'm glad that Joey is fine now. But he still has the demon in his body and it will probably come back another day. I trotted back home quickly to get some rest.

Until...

There was a sign on the door of Eric's house. " Eviction Notice" I totally forgot that since Eric's dad is dead that I have to pay the rent. Damn it!

I'm not Jeff Bezos.I'm not rich and I'm tired. I was too tired to deal with any of this so I just went inside and went asleep.

" What a day…." I mumbeled to myself as I drifted off to sleep.

I suddenly awoke in a familiar dojo. I was in a white comono with multiple bruises and scars on my arms and legs. " Samuel, do you consider yourself a worthy opponent? ", A woman asked in the distance.

The room went silent for a moment. " Do you or do you not consider yourself a worthy opponent? ", The woman asked again.

I mumbled. " I dont know..". Immediately I was whacked i nthe jar with the woman's stick. " Dont give me a answer like that! ", She scolded. " The first way to be a better opponent is to feel like a better opponent. ".

I remembered. This was my sensei who trained me in the ways to defeat the darkness lord. She taught me all sorts of martial arts.

But I can't remember how to do any of them.

*BEEP!*

My alarm clock went off and I slammed it into pieces. I got up feeling like death and got changed for school. I could hear faint knocks on my door. " Are you there,Eric? ", Lacy's muted voice said outside. " Can I come in? ".

" Yeah, Lacy. ", I yelled from across the kitchen. " Come in. ". Lacy came in with her coat and beanie. " It's a lot colder outside than usual! ", Lacy said as she shivered. " Not like I cant run in the cold, it just kind of caught me off guard. " My hair was still messed up and my eyeshadows were black. " Geez you like crap". Lacy said in concern. " no offense. "

" I'm sorry can we reschedule our run til later? ", I explained. " I got a lot on my plate. ". Lacy looked down in disappointment. " But I was really hoping to work out with you. ", Lacy said softly. " Its fine, take as much rest as you need. "

I went over to her and assured her. " Hey we can still train some other day! ". Lacy nodded her head as she went over to sit on my couch. " Can I stay here for a little bit at least? ", Lacy asked. I looked at the roof to think for a bit. " Fine, but-

Lacy gave me the biggest hug ever. " Thanks! ", Lacy replied. Lacy lied down on the couch and took a deep nap. She must've trained all night because no way she is this sleepy in the morning.

Looks like I have to spend the day with Lacy
