Chapter 4 - Cheating with My Sister?

Selena

"Congratulations, Selena," Hana said softly after she finished the test, and handing me the results. "You're carrying the alpha heir." She smiled.

My heart fluttered with a mixture of excitement and nervousness. It was 3 months after living in this cruel place but this was it, I hope Blaze would finally detect out mate bond now.

Clutching the test results tightly, I thanked Hana with and hurrying out of the room.

"Go for it my dear, go tell him the good news " she encouraged.

My hands trembled as I clutched the pregnancy test results. Positive. I was carrying Blaze's child - the future heir of the Shadow Pack.

A storm of emotions swirled within me. Nervousness, not knowing how the alpha would react to a half-breed's child. But also hope, that this news might finally make Blaze see me as his true mate.

I hurried to his apartment, heart pounding. Our child could change everything. Surely he would sense our bond, he'll accept me as his mate. And we'll start a new life together.

But when I burst into Blaze's room, my fragile hope shattered. There on the bed, naked limbs entwined with my mate, was Elena - my cruel stepsister.

The test results slipped from my fingers, my head spinning. "No," I choked out.

Blaze turned, his face a mask of cold indifference. He showed no shame at being discovered with my own sister.

Elena's smile dripped malice. "Well, if it isn't the little half-breed Bitch. I see we meet again! Come to share your joyous news?"

Ignoring her taunts, I found my voice. "Alpha Blaze, I'm pregnant. I'm carrying your heir." I searched his face for softness, for any flicker of emotion. But his icy eyes stared right through me.

"Do not speak lies to me, hybrid," he growled. "Elena warned me you would try this deception."

Tears welled in my eyes. "No, the healer confirmed it! Here is the proof." I held the results out with a trembling hand.

Blaze swept them aside, letting the paper drift to the floor. "Quiet. You think I'll agree with you. When I now know the truth. Elena confirmed your barren state long ago."

His callous rejection pierced my heart like a blade. I sank to my knees, the tears falling freely now.

"Please, just look at the results..." I whimpered, all pride forgotten. But Blaze silence me with Elena wrapped herself around him, smirking in triumph.

Why? Why would she do this to me?

But even as my world crumbled around me, I refused to show weakness. Steeling myself, I squared my shoulders and met Blaze's gaze head-on.

"I'm not lying, here's the results if you still disagree we can do the test again." I managed to say.

But Elena's cruel laughter cut through me like shards of glass. "Oh sister, you are pathetic. Still clinging to this sad little fantasy of having the Alpha heir?"

She turned to Blaze, trailing a seductive claw down his chest. "Don't trust a word of her my alpha, I already showed you prove that this Bitch is barren. This is just a feeble attempt to entrap you to her."

Blaze grasped Elena possessively, his glare slicing right through me. "You dare come to me with such disgusting lies? After being patience with losing my money on a barren breeder."

His rejection was a crushing blow. I staggered under the weight of it, this final loss of hope. But desperation pushed me forward.

"No, Alpha, I speak the truth!" My voice shook with emotion. "Just let Hana examine me, she will confirm it!"

Blaze's lip curled in a snarl. "Enough! I won't hear any more of this filth. You've conspired with that servant to deceive me, and Know all of it. And I'll make sure you both suffer for it."

He lunged forward, clamping my arm in an iron grip. I struggled uselessly as he dragged me from the room, Elena's cruel taunts following us out.

"Rot in hell bitch, that's the perfect place you deserve."

Blaze hauled me through the dark halls, his nails gouging my tender flesh. I pleaded with him, insisting on the truth of it all, but his face stayed carved from cold rage.

We descended the dungeon stairs, the chilly air stinging my lungs. Blaze forcefully shoved me into a small cell, and I fell hard onto the cold stone floor.

Moments later, Hana was thrown into the cell next to me. I crawled over to her, tears blurring my vision. She pulled me close as the cell door slammed shut with a loud clang.

Blaze gripped the iron bars, his icy glare piercing through me. "No food or water until you recant these vile lies," he said sternly.

He turned sharply and left the dungeon, extinguishing the last flickering torch. I clung to Hana, shuddering with sobs.

"Hush now, my dear, do not lose hope," she whispered, though her voice trembled slightly. My partner, the father of my unborn child, had utterly rejected me, believing my words to be deceitful.

The icy chill of the cell soon penetrated my bones. Hana and I huddled together in the darkness, desperately seeking some last shreds of warmth and comfort.

The hours crawled by at an agonizing pace. Thirst raked my throat, my empty stomach cramping violently. I placed a protective hand over the tiny life sheltered in my womb.

When Blaze finally returned, I was huddled against the corner, weak with deprivation. His broad frame filled the cell door, any softness or mercy etched away by darkness.

"Give up these lies, little hybrid, and perhaps I'll permit you to crawl back to the gutter you came from," he spat.

Though my body screamed for sustenance, I raised my chin in defiance. "Why ... Why would I lie to you. If you disagree have me checked again. I speak you no lies, Alpha."

Fury twisted his face and he struck the bars violently. "You test my patience, c*nt! Rot down here and reconsider your choice."

He turned and ascended the stairs, the shadows swiftly swallowing him up. I released a ragged sigh, my body shivering against the cold stones.

The forced fast stretched on without relent. My mind grew hazy from lack of food and water. I drifted in and out of feverish dreams.

Visions came to me - Blaze's face soft with wonder as he learned of our child. His strong arms encircling me, vowing to protect our future family.

But always I awoke to the same stark reality. The frigid dungeon floor, the twisted roots of despair tightening around my heart.

Hana tended to me as best she could. But with no food or water, I grew weaker by the hour. Soon, I lacked even the strength to stand.

"Please, Alpha..." I rasped out during one of Blaze's visits. "The child will die from this..."

But my pleas fell on deaf ears. Blaze's eyes held no shred of pity, only blistering contempt. "Accept you lied to me and begged for mercy, that's the only way your suffering will end."

Once he departed, Hana wept over my frail body. But I was lost, adrift in fever and hopelessness. My child - Blaze's rightful heir - if I continue like this the child would die.

How could fate be so monstrously cruel? To bind me as mate to a male who would condemn his own offspring to death rather than face the truth.

Darkness became my world. The walls of the cell closed in until nothing existed but cold unforgiving stone. Each ragged breath was a struggle now.

And still, Blaze did not yield. He don't visit nowadays and rather see me dead than accept his child growing in my womb. His soul was smothered by pride and cruelty.

I drifted half-conscious, no longer strong enough to plead or argue my case. Only one truth remained - protect this innocent life for as long as my heart still beats.

But even my maternal bond wavered as starvation weakened my body. Death's shadow slowly crept over us both, despite Hana's desperate efforts.

The cell opened and I hear Elena's mocking laughter cuts through the darkness like a knife. Even in my weakened state, her presence fills me with dread.

"Look at this pathetic half-breed now," she sneers as she grabs my hair, yanking me upright. I bite back a cry, determined not to show her my pain.

"What's wrong, little hybrid?" she taunts. "Too weak to even speak now?" She laughed bitterly.

I summon every ounce of strength to spit at her feet. She slaps me hard, my head ringing. But her cruelty only fans the flames of defiance growing inside me.

"How dare you?" She raged. 'I'll send you to hell, where you belong." She yelled.

Elena drags me from the cell, my shackled feet scraping the cold stones. Each step is agony, but I force my trembling legs to keep moving.

Hana reaches for me as I pass, her face etched with anguish. Seeing her suffering stabs at my heart. But I meet her eyes, trying to convey my courage.

Elena parades me through the corridors, her nail digging into my scalp. I keep my chin high, though my body screams for respite.

Inside, I am crippled with fear and rage. Fear for my helpless babe who clings to life despite the odds. And rage at my own powerlessness to protect it from the darkness that surrounds us.

But I cling to hope like a lifeline. As long as this new life grows within me, I cannot fully despair. I will endure whatever torment comes, for the sake of this innocent soul.

I whisper prayers to the Goddess, pleading for our deliverance. And I nurture the fragile seed of hope in my heart - that we will live to see the light again.

My child, my only light in this nightmare. I will shield you with every shred of strength I have left. Even if it destroys me, I will not forsake the precious gift growing inside me.

Have courage, little one. We will endure this and I promise I'll get you out of here.

Just stay strong, my baby. Stay strong. We'll escape.
