I quickly locked my phone screen and forced a smile, hoping it looked more natural than it felt. "Wrong number," I said, with a dismissive wave. "Nothing to worry about."

Enzo's eyes narrowed slightly, searching my face for a moment, but then he shrugged, his posture relaxing. "If it's nothing, then it's nothing," he said, the intensity in his gaze softening. "But next time you're with me, you'll have to keep your phone away. I don't want you getting distracted."

I nodded, grateful he didn't press the issue further. "Of course," I agreed, slipping the phone back into the heap of clothes. "No distractions."

Enzo's hand moved to my face, his thumb gently tracing my jawline. "Selena, tonight was a major victory for us. The Zhorovs are reeling, and we've shown everyone in this city the price of crossing us."
