Tomita’s Words.

Tomita Shoichi

Mai was genuinely surprised to see him.

It had only been a few days since she last saw him, but now he looked like he was getting better.

His face was still covered in wounds and bruises, though mostly hidden by various bandages.

But the real difference was in his demeanor.

Normally, Tomita was a blameworthy and troublesome person, always causing problems for others, especially Haga Kou.

Now, he looked completely innocent, as if Yuuki had beaten all the confidence out of him, leaving him solemn and subdued.

The phrase "a shell of your former self" had never made much sense to Mai until she saw Tomita now.

If she hadn't been paying close attention, she might not have even recognized him.

Aside from the bandages and his humble demeanor, he had shaved his head, leaving him with a very low cut that made him look even more different.

"What do you want? I don't have time for you," Mai snapped.
