Escape (Xander's POV Part 1)

The coach saunters back to us and so does the other boy, he's gripping his wrist and trying to show no pain but fails. Miserably might I add.I stare back at the bundled-up Mr. Craven who's now a snarling mess. He's cheekbone have a deeper volume, like he hasn't eaten for days. Black eyes stare back at us and black pools under his suit pants. We had to hold Marlene from slapping him when he woke up and I wonder what is wrong with girls and their need to slap or hit. I remember how Olivia used to hit me whenever she laughs. Sometimes she would pause mid laughter and walk over to me then slap me repeatedly on my arm then laugh her head off. I think she does that intentionally. Who laughs like that?!I'm getting distracted again. I focus back to Mr.Craven and our eyes meet."I say we kill him" Marlene shrugs as she eyes him suspiciously."What?! What type of logic is that?" The boy who I think is her boyfriend says."Anything that is pretty dies" She deadpans. Would I be dead then? I mean...she hasn't killed me yet so maybe I pass?"We can't just kill him, are you mad?" The boy with the injured says as he goes to sit down."Are YOU crazy? Does this look normal to you" She motions at Mr. Craven "Do you want to turn into him?!" She shrieks kicks Mr. Craven leg, her boyfriend comes behind her and wraps his arms around her small waist, pulls her towards him in a hug."Honey, want to take a break?" He gives her a soft smile as he draws her back to the couch and settles down. I'll call him Honey. His hair is golden, his eyes are blue, giving him a soft boyish look, like rays of a sun. His voice his also sweet as honey too. But the moment he turns his gaze back to Mr. Craven, his gaze turns dark and he looks ready to run away with the girl in his arms. He looks like he could kill for her. Could die for her."The binds won't last" I clear my throat and look back at the boy a broken wrist. For him too."We could just move him, don't get bitten right? Simple" Another boy comes up. He has Dark brown hair and is a solid 6 foot."No" I murmur."No?" He turns back at me with an incredulous look."Do you think Mr. Fred was easily over powered by that man from our cabin" I keep my gaze on the boy with a broken wrist. 5 minutes 1 second...2 seconds."Mr. Fred?" The boy asks. I curse my self at my slip up. "The man from this cabin that tried pointing out the other guy" I blink away from the boy and turn my gaze to the person I'm talking to. He nods his head understandingly."I say we just cover him up or something...with that plastic sheet from the storage and you can..." Marlene she trails off pointing at the red wood with a strong metal on it. I wince. She still thinks he's ugly huh. Or is she pointing at me. I shudder."We'll use my hammer" The burly man says from beside me and now a sheet of plastic has been placed over Mr. Craven's body and the coach steps us. With one swing of the hammer, drawing it up in the air like an arrow and letting it down in one stroke like a paint brush, the hammer's head connects with Mr. Craven's leg and a sickening crunch emits. I force my self not to flinch but I still do."Why did you suggest the plastic sheet?" I grimace as I look away from the crouched man now breaking Mr. Craven's arms and legs into a pulp like preparing paper mache. She rolls her eyes. "What else dummy if not to reduce blood splatter, I don't want this place to have pieces of some ugly man's bones." She explains but I can tell she just doesn't want to see the man and what she's done to him. The hitting has stopped so I turn to look back not without catching the disgusted faces of everyone around."There now we just have to find a way out of this-" Marlene loudly sighs but stops when a snarl comes out. Not the snarl of Mr. Craven or the distant snarls out the door. The snarls of someone in this cabin. We all turn to the other boy. The one I've been looking out for ever since."Kai?" Marlene calls out and slowly walks towards Kai but quickly stops. Not because Honey is now holding her arm but because Kai is foaming from the mouth. He lets out a guttural noise and slowly stalks to Marlene."Get out of here" Coach stands in front of me, using himself as a barrier between Mr. Craven and Kai. He takes his hammer and smashes the window a few times The group of boys just stand there. "Coach""Are you deaf? Get out of here, I can handle this myself" Coach screams as he holds the hammer in his hands as the tow snarling men huddle at the corner of the cabin. Are they scared?"Fuck all this shit, it's been going on for too long" Coach murmurs to himself but I hear him because I'm so close to him. I grip the axe in my hand. It is medium-sized. I can help so I step beside coach but someone grips my hand. He's the tallest of them all and has the meanest face. His arms are long and lean like a basketballer's. He shakes his head in a no."I'll take it from here, I don't know you man, but he's my coach. I'll be the one" He removes the axe from my hand and his brown skin brushes with my pale ones. "This Omugo gotta be taught how to respect his elders" He says and turns to me with a smirk. And now I notice the big Bicentennials written in bold on his jacket. On all their jackets."Good luck Xander" He smiles a big gummy smile and turns his back to me.And all I can focus on his is huge smile, it's bright it's warm. And my eyes prick with tears. I jump
