15. Fired

Azael and Reuel approached the hidden door in the office and pressed a button. Behind the door was a staircase that led to another part of the club, the part that was hidden from everyone who didn't have a membership.

The guard by the stairs moved aside as soon as the two men appeared before him.

"How's everything tonight, Quin? Did something happen after I left?" Reuel questioned while Azael looked around.

While Caleb was in charge of the club and the dance floor, Quin was in charge of the part they were in. He overlooked all that happened there, everything minuscule or huge.

"No, Master Reuel. Everything is as usual."

"Good." Reuel nodded.

"How are you, Master Azael?"

"I'm good, Quin." Azael gave him a wicked smile. "I hope you didn't wreak havoc in my absence."

Quin didn't reply this time as he followed the two men.

"Is Howard here?"

"Yes, Master Reuel. He is. Should I bring him here?"

"Yes. I don't want to disturb the guests. They shouldn't find out what we will be doing next."

"And while you're at it, escort Boris Green out of the club. His membership is no longer valid." Azael ordered.

At first, Quin didn't know what had happened and how Howard had pissed the two men off. Even without them saying anything, he had sensed the killing intent from them. But the moment he heard Master Azael's instruction, he had a fair inkling as to where this was going.

"Yes, Master Azael."

While Quin got to work, the twins entered the room beside the elevator. The place was wider than their office and was accessible by only three people, Quin being the third one.

While Reuel didn't take a chair, Azael sat in front of the multitude of screens that were capturing all that was happening in this part of the club. Every nook and corner of the club was under surveillance and nothing could escape their eyes.

However, a few of the screens were black and Azael didn't even look at them. After all, they were private dungeons and he was not interested in looking at what was happening there until it was absolutely necessary.

"Seems like Boris is putting up a fight with our men."

"He won't stand a chance. He should've seen this coming when he tricked his way into becoming a member here."

Just as Reuel had said, Boris put up a fight. But he could in no way overpower the two men Quin had brought with him to escort him out of the club, more like he was hurled out of the club like trash.

A few minutes later, Quin returned with Howard following him and the man was visibly shaking. His face had lost all its color and why would it not when he'd soon be facing the wrath of the two most dangerous men in the world? He had fucked up big time and all of that for some extra bucks.

"It looks like someone has become bolder in our absence and is breaking the rules outright," Reuel commented as he fixed his gaze on his prey while Azael continued to monitor the situation outside the room.

"Master Reuel, I..." Howard trembled in fright. Words failed him at such a critical moment and he gulped as he waited for his death sentence.

"What? Cat got your tongue?" Reuel sneered, his eyes cold and emotionless. "What happened to your fear when you issued membership to Boris Green? Didn't you know he wasn't someone who'd ever be allowed in this part of the club?"

"I'm so sorry, Master." Howard kneeled immediately as he begged for mercy. "I became greedy for a moment and..."

"And you broke the rule, not just one but three rules."

Howard's eyes widened in horror as Reuel stood up.

"Thre..three?" Howard stammered.

"First, you issued membership to a man like Boris Green." Reuel started counting. "Two, you hid this matter from everyone, from us. Three, don't you know people aren't supposed to use the emergency door to enter this part of the club? Why did you inform Boris about it?"

'Fuck!' Quin cursed at Howard's foolishness. He now understood why his Masters were this pissed. The first two were still acceptable, but not the third. Definitely not the third.

The hidden part of the club was accessible by three doors, with one of the doors being exclusive for the twins as it led to their office. While one door was the main entrance that only the members could use, the other connected to the dance floor and was kept closed most of the time.

The door was meant to be used only during emergencies and had to be kept closed at all times. Nobody but the two men were allowed to use it. But Howard had informed Boris about the door and he had entered from there.

"Why didn't the guards inform me about it when I came here earlier?"

Howard knew that the question was meant for him and he didn't have a choice but answer him. Silence was not an option and if he dared to defy him, he'd be silenced forever.

"I tricked the guards and escorted Boris Green myself."

"So, no one realized that he had used that door." Azael turned to Howard finally and the man nodded at him.

"I think you know what is expected of you," Reuel stated and Howard looked at him as he teared up.

"Master, please. I was wrong. Please give me one chance." Howard crawled towards Reuel but Quin held him back immediately.

"Chance? You do know that's not something we ever give to anyone. You brought this upon yourself." Azael shrugged and flicked his wrist, indicating to Quin what was expected of him.

Howard didn't even have the time to apologize. He was thrown out of the place just like Boris Green.

"Quin, please. Could you please talk to Masters..."

"Howard, be happy that you only lost your job."

That shut Howard up.

"You can still find work somewhere else, Howard. I'd suggest you leave the city and never return. I don't think Masters will be this merciful the next time." Quin advised before he closed the door on Howard.

"There seems to be a public scene. Do you want to attend it?" Azael asked once Quin and Howard were out of sight.

"Another one?" Reuel was surprised. This was the second public scene for the day. Although having multiple public scenes in a day wasn't unheard of, it wasn't a common occurrence either.

"Why? Was there another one some time ago?"

Reuel nodded as he rolled his sleeves that had slipped to his arms until they were back to his elbows.

"Do you want to go?" Azael looked at his brother with interest.

"I oddly want to. What about you?"

Azael didn't reply. His smile said it all and just like that the brothers attended their first public scene after a long break.
