"Let's get to gather as much evidence as we can. How is it with the summon of Paolo?" Karina asked.
"I sent it to the Italian Office but I have not gotten any reply. " Mike replied as he kept staring at the desk.
"Mike. You remember you saying you knew me the first day we met?" I asked. Karina looked at Mike's face which was still staring at the desk.
Mike looked up and answered me. " I thought you would never ask. I met you in the 2012 exhibition program hosted by Berti. Do you remember you going there?" He asked me.
"Yes. But, I don't think I saw you there. "
"Sure. You only caught a glimpse of me. "
The truth was when I wanted to get employed into L'art book company. I had to go to several places. I had to meet with people who worked and asked them about their frequently asked interview questions. I know I was a little bit forward but I wanted to do well. Money was my priority. So, one of those people I met advised me to go to an exhibition centre and buy a painting called 'handwrite'. The name is weird right? But, I did not think of that because the person said the reason why she was not employed was because she did not own any book painting.
" I got all the questions thrown at me, but when they asked me if I had any book painting, I told them that I didn't because I was not interested in paintings. So, I was not employed. They insisted that in order for me to get employed into L'art book company, I had to own a book painting. That is how I blew my chance. So, make sure you own a book painting. I recommend 'handwrite' to you because it is really rare and it might assist you in the interview. ' She said. Though, it was my first time of hearing about book companies demanding book paintings in their interviews. But, I did not care. So, I went to the exhibition. Luckily, I was able to get the painting. But, even till now, I don't remember where I met Mike.
"Oh! Maybe it's because it was a glimpse. Nice meeting you again. " I replied smiling like nothing had happened.
"Okay. That is okay. Let us focus. Who cares if you guys have met before? What is essential is you are here again. " Karina said sounding left out.
"Karina, are you feeling lonely right now?" Mike asked looking at her with his damn brown eyes.
"Of course not. I am just saying we should get back to business. Out of all the cases I have dealt with, this case is just somehow. Thanks to my best friend. " She replied looking at me.
"So, how are you feeling now? Have you gotten over Hart?" She asked.
"How did she get to know that I like him? Did I tell her?" I thought.
"Mira liked Hart?" Mike asked — his face showing no emotions — blank.
"Do you still love him?" Karina asked again ignoring Mike's question.
"Yes. I still love him. But, what's the point? Will moving on from him make any difference? Whether I made a grave mistake or not, I got nothing to do about it and there is no thing that can change that fact. My heart fail to believe the fact that he is dead but my mind keep telling me that he's gone. I don't want to believe it but I keep telling myself that he's dead. I don't want to pretend like nothing has happened, at the same time, I want to. I will get over him as long as I plot my revenge! I promise I will kill everyone involved in his death including that dumb mafia boss who claim he is dead. I'm sure he is not dead and I will kill him. I'll kill everyone. " I shouted. My eyes were burning with anger. My heart freezed with grief. I could feel my head hurting but I shouted harder to make it hurt more. This time, no one tried to stop me. Mike and Karina stared at me with clear eyes showing an emotion I could not describe.
"Sure. Let's get revenge. Let's kill everyone. Law? It can't solve it. These people are crazy, they would clearly win against us. Let's destroy Miami, mafia and whoever is related to Hart's death. Let's kill everyone. That way, Hart would not die just like that. " Karina said. She looked scarier than me especially her soft solemn terrifying voice.
"Karina. That can't solve this. I thought you would talk her out of this. Why are you complicating it. " Mike said to Karina as he grabbed her shoulders.
"Those people are wicked. They deserve to die. " She said.
"They are terrifying. We can't win against them. We can't. You know that. "
"Let's start with putting Miami on fire. " I said.
"Brilliant idea. Let's do that. "
"I understand the fact that you guys are too overwhelmed with everything. But still, doing things like this would put us in trouble. If we think it's Miami's fault and it's not, then what are we going to do?"
"I have proof. Fazio clearly mentioned Miami's name. I have the recordings on my phone. We can do this. " I said trying to convince Mike.
"Oh come on Mike. Let's do this. "
"Fine, I'll think about it."
"Nice conclusion Mike ". We said.
I learnt some things when I was young. Even though I was not born with a silver spoon, I had to look at myself like I was worth something even if I got no penny on me. I had to look at myself like I got a lot a people behind me even if there is clearly no one. That way, I realized that I would survive. What if I never worked at L'art, would Hart have died? Would he have met with the mafia boss? What if Mike had never gotten employed, would Hart die? What would have happened? I clearly could not blame anyone. It was no one's fault — Hart's death. "But, it was clearly someone's fault. Miami!"
