CHAPTER EIGHTY

"It's not that bad!" He sounded like he was consoling himself. "Have been here all my life."

"I don't understand." Ella halted abruptly. "How then do you go outside?" Ella was most definitely was confused.

"I was born here and lived here." He replied as he stopped just in front of her. "We used to go out of here. This hallway was filled with ornaments and was a very fine place to be; be it night or day!" Ella felt him smiled as he spoke. "But when she died, the passage was locked with her and we couldn't go out neither anyone come in. Except you, dear." She felt him gave a weary smile. "That must be a miracle!"

"I guess, but it still got me far away from my family." She joked and heard him chuckle.

"This is a terrible time to be cracking jokes." He moved forward.

Ella followed him in silence with a smile.
