My Mate is Wolfless

"Did you see what just happened, Katy?" Aurora asked her friend.

"What's that? I didn't see anything unusual. Let's go for lunch." Katie replied her.

"That teacher just ignored me." She said.

"He did?" Katie was surprised.

"He did? Are you seriously telling me that you didn't see him ignoring me?" She asked.

"I heard him said 'Hello, Aurora'..." Katie maintained and gave her the duh look.

"That he did but he didn't accept my handshake yet he accepted yours." She pointed out.

"Oh!" Katie exclaimed, raising an eyebrow.

"I'm serious." Aurora snapped, feeling annoyed.

"Wow, wow! Let's calm done, alright? Well, I'm certain he didn't mean to do that. He definitely was in a hurry. Don't read meaning to that, girl. Let's go eat." Katie said, dismissing the issue. Aurora was dismayed.

"What just happened? Did she just refuse to acknowledge that we're mates?" Elias wondered as he walked on, on the other side.

"Werewolves recognize their mates immediately they set eyes on each other as long as they're sixteen and gotten their wolves, right. Every student in that class is 18 years old, so she should be, as well. Is she trying to play dumb?" He analysed with keen interest.

"Are you not hearing me? Why aren't you answering? Are you purposely ignoring me?" He shouted at his wolf as the latter wasn't saying anything. It had retreated to the back of his mind.

"Okay, I'm sorry. I accept you're not in support of rejecting our mate but let leave that aside for now and figure this out. You saw how she acted like she didn't know we're mates, right?" Elias asked his wolf, persuasively.

"Huh! Well, for somebody that is planning on rejecting her, I don't think you should be bothered whether she ignores you or not." His wolf said, with an attitude.

"Erm... Yeah. You might be right but I'm just curious. Is it a crime to be curious now? That I want to figure out why she acted completely ignorant of being our mate, doesn't mean I'm going to change my mind and not reject her." Elias replied his wolf.

"You don't need to figure that out. Didn't you even ignore her earlier? You took her friend's hand for a handshake yet you refused to take hers. Why must you embarrass her like that?" His wolf said with annoyance.

"I didn't embarrass anybody or should I say I didn't mean to embarrass her. You know why I did that, so stop picking offense and being annoyed. We can't risk having any physical contact with her when we're going to reject her. That will be like awakening the mate bond and making it unbearable to reject each other. You know what that means." He explained.

"Huh, okay. Now, dumbass... Our mate is strange. While we were standing closer to her, I couldn't sense her wolf. You know I'm supposed to sense it and be able to connect with her if she was present. No connection at all. So, it's not that she is deliberately refusing to acknowledge that we're mates. She doesn't know that we're mates, at all. She has no idea as she is wolfless." His wolf revealed to him.

Elias was utterly shocked.

"What? Which werewolf doesn't have a wolf, their inner animal? Is that even possible? I mean, I could sense that she's purely werewolf. It's not like she is even half human, half werewolf. She is a full blooded werewolf." He analysed, confusedly.

"I know. But it is what it is. She is wolfless, currently. And doesn't that even make it easier for you who is bent on rejecting her?" His wolf maintained.

"Yes, it sure does. But on a very serious note, this revelation about her makes her really intriguing. I'm curious about how she has been coping as a werewolf in a werewolf community without a wolf. I can't even imagine the feeling." Elias replied his wolf.

"Makes her intriguing? So, you're willing to get to know her better and will reconsider the decision to reject her, is that what you are saying?" His wolf inquired, feeling excited.

"No, that's not what I'm saying. How's being intriguing means wanting to get to know someone better or reconsidering to not reject them? Don't be dumb, please." Elias said.

"I'm not dumb. You're the dumb one here. And you're not only dumb but also callous. Do you not even pity our mate? She's wolfless yet her mate is planning on rejecting her, then she will be wolfless and mateless." His wolf said, angrily.

"She's not pitiful. What do you even know about her to conclude that she's pitiful?" He asked the angry wolf.

"I know a lot." The wolf stated.

"Like what and what, tell me." Elias deadpanned.

"I know she's our mate." The wolf said stubbornly.

"Gosh, there's no use talking to you. What am I even expecting from you anyways. You're just one horny wolf who can't wait to mate." Elias stated, scoffing.

"Excuse me? Well, if I'm just that, then you're no different from me. The moon goddess made us one as we complement each other well." The wolf retorted.

"Do you know that you're so annoying?" He asked.

"Well, you are me. I am you. Whatever I am is what you are." His wolf maintained, making Elias chuckled.

"I'm done talking with you for now, you annoying beast!" Elias said, half seriously, half jokingly and broke the connection with his wolf. He wanted to do some thinking without him in the know.

"Huh! What is this supposed to mean? How can my mate be wolfless?" Elias thought inwardly.

"Alpha!" A voice rang from behind him.

"Alpha Asher! Alpha Asher!" The voice rang again.

Elias almost had whiplash turning to look at the person. He was alarmed.

"Nobody knows me as an Alpha here. Nobody here should know I'm an Alpha as An Alpha hovering around another Alpha's territory without proper pr

ocedure could mean war." He gritted out.
