Chapter 9 (First Part)

Leroy, Andrew and eight other members of the pack go to Justin’s domain.

Along the way, Andrew has been slightly defensive since their last discussion. Leroy on the contrary, shows herself smiling and pretends to know nothing about it.

At the age of fourteen, Leroy hears sobs coming from his brother. He approaches and sees Luxana on the ground, in tears.

“Luxana, what is there?”

He quickly gets to his level. “Has Absalon left you? He’s getting a divorce.”

“Leroy, get out!”

“Slow down. You don’t get my brother out.”

Absalom blows and grabs Leroy by the hand.

“Be careful how you express yourself. Luxana is very tense at the moment.”

“I know. That’s why I figured you were getting divorced.”

“I’m not getting a divorce. Luxana is my wife and I love her.”

He holds her tenderly in his arms.

“She just took bad news and she’s having a hard time accepting it.”

Luxana sobs harder.

“Don’t you hear what I say. Go away.”
