Chapter 34 (Second part)

Since Cécile’s unexpected visit, Leroy has been stealthily trailing Lovely, endeavoring to gain her affection. “So it’s Annalee who heeds the door upon hearing several knocks once more.”

“Are you Leroy vonstein?” she inquires as the door swings open.

“No… I’m Annalee vonstein.”

“You are?”

“The one posing questions, and who might you be?”

“The alpha Kenneth dispatched me to address a pressing issue,” she declares as she steps into the abode. “Were I in your shoes, I wouldn’t feel secure in the presence of the proprietor; I’ve been informed he’s a perilous man,” she articulates with a hint of wariness.

At that juncture, Leroy emerges from his chamber, donning a classic ensemble, slicking back his hair.

“…Remarkable,” the detective muses internally, straightening her posture. “Who is that?” she murmurs, leaning toward Annalee while scrutinizing him.

“The notorious dangerous individual,” Annalee retorts before pivoting away.
