I tried. I really tried to look and stay strong. But that proved difficult. I had never felt so empty and scared of losing someone. My selfishness made me lose her once. I was about to lose her again, this time, forever. It was her last day. The least I could do was smile for her. 


I wore a sorry excuse of a smile when the boys came over. They took it better than I did. Eileen asked them a few favors. They promised to take good care of me. We waited patiently after gathering the necessary equipment needed for our plan. 


Kathy called an hour later. We were set for the operation. So was Kathy. She and the family would be gone for some time. She'd also given the gate keeper 5 hours off. That would be enough for us to be able to break the wall and find out something.
