Chapter 66: Mystical Ventures

The next day arrived.

When the expert logged in, his most memorable task was to build a dedicated office for wizards.

[Building offices. Please choose the type of office you desire.]

[You have selected the Enchanted Exploration Lab, an auxiliary building of the Preparation Ground. Would you like to expand this building?]

[Yes/No]

A gentle vibration ran through the entire reception area, accompanied by the appearance of a message.

People in the preparation ground seemed accustomed to such vibrations and continued with their tasks undisturbed.

[The Alchemy Lab, an extension of the Preparation Ground]

[The Library, an extension of the Preparation Ground]

[The Enchanted Exploration Lab has been completed! Research is now available.]

[The Alchemy Lab has been completed! You can now arrange various items.]

[The Library has been completed! Mages can now sharpen their knowledge on their own.]

[Excellent!]

[The three auxiliary buildings of the preparation ground, the Enchanted Exploration Lab, Alchemy Lab, and Library, have merged to create a new facility called the Hall of Magic.]

Why am I also doing this?

Among the trainees running along the track, there was a girl with brown hair—Eolka Rivel Strasheur. She was the hero who had miraculously defeated twenty troll riders the previous day.

Eolka couldn't help but complain incessantly as she ran.

"Why do elite people like me have to go through such mindless training?"

"Just keep running."

"I'm a talented person who relies on my mind!"

"Then maybe you should just eat potatoes from now on."

"Argh, seriously!"

Eolka gritted her teeth and ran.

This was the task I assigned to her. Her endurance was remarkably low. Although mages focus on intelligence, having endurance is crucial on a battlefield where swords and spears clash.

She was now wearing Jenna's spare dress. Eolka's original dress was a specially crafted magical item made by her friends and family. It enhanced the power of fire magic. After verifying it, I realized that her complaint wasn't unfounded.

"Why me? Why do I have to go through this?"

"You're complaining too much."

Perhaps I had assigned an especially challenging menu.

Just three laps around the track each day. She hadn't had to carry a shield. The pace was slow. Compared to what I'm used to doing, it was enough to make me yawn.

Eolka's endless complaining prompted me to give a humorous order to Chloe: If she doesn't stop complaining, feed her only potatoes for all three meals.

As I dragged Eolka along during her run, I looked up, taking in the splendid sky.

The sky was a lovely shade of sky blue, reminiscent of deep mysteries. It had been a long time since the expert logged in during the morning hours. Everything seemed enchanted, quietly observing the preparation ground without giving any orders.

Since I'm incredibly busy, please find something else to occupy yourself with.

"I can't pretend to keep doing training, there were other tasks that demanded my attention already."

With the 10th floor fast approaching, luck was on our side. We had managed to recruit a magician, and the magnificent Hall of Magic had been unveiled.

The warehouse eagerly awaited my touch, filled to the brim with a multitude of materials I had diligently collected. The new opening of the Isalta Mine allowed us to acquire a diverse range of materials from the three distinct dungeons. The time had come to craft consumable items, including potions.

Originally, this was considered high-level content, reserved for skilled alchemists and chemists. However, by employing the same method I used for equipment crafting—relying on engaging mini-games—I could produce items even without the necessary expertise.

Of course, it was important to keep such scenes hidden from Anytng's full attention. If he were to observe the game's protagonist making items through a mini-game, he would surely trigger a bug report.

After a delightful round of observation, Anytng seemed content and logged out effortlessly.

Without further ado, I halted my running and headed towards the exit.

"Jenna, please keep an eye on her to prevent any escape attempts."

"Yes, of course! Sister, let's keep running earnestly. We can make it happen!"

"I never expected things to turn out this way..."

Stepping out onto the court, I called out loudly.

"Iselle!"

[Loki's trusted subordinate, Iselle, makes her grand entrance! What's going on?]

"We have important matters to attend to. Let's create essential items."

"Okay, I understand! I'll set it up right away!"

The warehouse doors opened up slowly, revealing a gold mine of materials. I quickly loaded them onto the cart at the entrance.

Life Grass, Mana Spice, Fresh Mushroom, Highland Water, Goldstone, Azureite

Though we lacked variety in minerals, we managed to make the numbers work. I had shifted my focus from gathering elemental stones and instead directed my efforts towards collecting resources. As we approached the ascent to the 10th floor, the priority shifted from progression to item creation.

Dragging the cart behind me, I returned to the preparation ground. Eolka, drenched in sweat, gasped for breath, but her eyes conveyed a sense of excitement towards me. Ignoring her, I entered through the newly constructed door on the left side of the preparation ground.

[Hall of Wizardry Level 1]

The room was shrouded in darkness, with shelves on either side adorned with books emitting a nostalgic fragrance. I randomly plucked one and attempted to read its contents. However, it was filled with cryptic formulas and intricate charts that were beyond my comprehension.

Guiding the cart forward, I proceeded towards my intended destination—a secluded corner of the Hall, where a room draped in curtains awaited.

The Alchemy Cauldron.

As I bumped the cart next to the cauldron, I envisioned the process of pharmacy writing potions. Pouring Highland Water into the cauldron, lighting the furnace, and setting it to a vigorous boil. Then carefully adding finely ground Life Grass in precise proportions...

Too much hassle.

With a flick of my finger, Iselle promptly brought up the item synthesis window, as if she had been silently awaiting my command.

From the cart, I retrieved a glass bottle brimming with water—Highland Water. I haphazardly tossed it into the cauldron, paying no mind to the cracking sound that ensued. Fresh Mushroom, Goldstone, Life Grass—they were all carelessly thrown in, their proportions and ratios ignored.

The potion creation window appeared before me.

Disregarding the successive messages warning of potential penalties, I proceeded. The mini-game used for item crafting and enchantment involved tapping the keys in sync with the musical beats.

[Astonishing Achievement!]

[Han() has successfully created a Inferior Health Potion!]

[Astounding Achievement!]

[Han() has successfully created a Poor Quality Health Potion]

[Astounding Achievement!]

[Han() has successfully created a Inferior Mana Potion]

The newly concocted items emerged from a rift beneath the cauldron.

I converted all the materials in the cart into consumable items. Honestly, this could arouse Anytng's suspicion, but there was no other choice. It was wiser to put them to use rather than let them languish in neglect.

The fruits of my labor: six Health Potions and two Mana Elixirs.

I returned

the potions to the warehouse, knowing they would prove valuable on the 10th floor.
