Chapter 89: A Journey Beyond the Tower

The following day, as the dawn broke after the day's agenda had concluded, and while wiping off the sweat on the seat in the training session, the sky brightened.

"Welcome to Pick Me Up!"

"The loading is complete."

"TOUCH! (Select)"

It was a familiar login message.

However, there was also an alert indicating a new announcement.

A few days ago, a regrettable server issue occurred.

Below that, there was a post apologizing for the simultaneous disconnection that happened to the Masters on the lower floors of the tower, explaining that it was due to an unexpected server deficiency.

It was because of that girl who appeared when we were about to clear the tenth floor.

I couldn't understand what was going on, but I knew it was connected with her.

1. Special reward for all Masters! 500 pearls will be given.

2. Get rewarded even more! 50,000 gold will be given.

3. There's more! Increase your favorability with the heroes! Gift vouchers will be given.

4. And it doesn't end here! All weekly dungeons will be open for 3 days.

Anytng closed the announcement and went to his mailbox to claim the rewards.

Then, he started tapping on the control screen.

*Ping!*

Iselle approached, dispersing stardust.

"Congratulations on your advancement, Loki!"

*Bang!*

Iselle set off a firecracker she had brought from somewhere.

There was no one at the training session.

Aaron and Dica were here, but they had just left.

As she stood there quietly, Iselle tilted her head in concern.

"You look upset. Is something wrong?"

"I met the original."

"The original? What do you mean?"

Iselle was deep in thought, and then her mouth opened wide in shock.

"Is it the co-operator head of Mobius?"

"Y-You must be kidding!"

I lifted her drooping jaw up.

Iselle spoke in a trembling voice.

"How much did she tell you?"

I summarized the information I heard from that girl about this world and told her.

Iselle nodded solemnly; she even looked a bit concerned.

I smiled and said,

"I don't really care. There's nothing to argue over. I'll climb the tower. You just have to help me with that."

"Ok, got it."

"So, what's the matter?"

It wouldn't have been a trivial issue for Iselle to appear this way.

Iselle wiped away her grim expression and burst into laughter with delight. Then, she took out a golden ticket about the size of her body.

"Do you have any idea what this is? Let's call it a Gift Ticket! Anything you want, you can have it instantly!"

Iselle hugged the golden ticket and swayed her body as if she were dancing.

"A gift, huh?"

In Shot in the Arm, there was a feature called gifting which allowed players to reward special achievements or give presents to their favorite heroes.

Of course, it wasn't free.

Depending on the value of the gift, players had to pay gold, and for high-grade rare gifts, diamonds or premium materials were required. It was similar to the concept of the clock I had mentioned during the facility's large-scale expansion.

"He really values me highly."

The fact that he only gave me the gift voucher meant he considered me the highest among all the heroes here.

In a way, it was evident.

Not out of arrogance, but because it was the truth.

As the main person who had cleared two consecutive missions that seemed impossible, even if you watched the strategy screen, you would see that Edis and Eolka's contributions were exceptional, but I was at the center, nonetheless.

It must have been intriguing.

Despite not doing anything particularly outstanding, the heroes somehow managed to survive.

I fought a bit on the tenth floor, which went beyond the normal difficulty, but I cleared it. The result was even greater. The main members survived without losing anyone except two 1-star heroes.

After letting out a sigh, I returned the ticket to Iselle.

"I don't need it. Give it to someone else."

"[Han () denies the gift.]"

Iselle's eyes widened in shock as she took the ticket.

"Are you sure? You can have anything you want! Delicious dishes! Beautiful clothes! Exquisite jewelry! You can have it all!"

"I don't want everything."

The gift shop offered more than thousands of items.

Exquisite delicacies made from exotic ingredients. Luxurious attire suitable for aristocrats. Artworks exuding a nostalgic charm. If you raise the stakes a bit more, there are even items that surpass imagination. Of course, such items cannot be bought with a mere 10,000 gold.

I got up from my seat and left the training session.

Iselle followed me eagerly.

"Why are you following me? I'm falling asleep."

"[W-Wait.]"

Iselle spun around in place. Stardust dispersed from her wings, and a small wooden sculpture appeared.

"[Using the gift voucher to purchase a Warhorse Statue.]"

"[Giving the Warhorse Sculpture to Han ()!]"

"[Tips/You can give gifts to heroes you like. Give gifts to increase the heroes' favorability!]"

"What's this?"

"[It's a gift from the Master!]"

An elegant warhorse with a proud front leg position was sculpted.

I took the sculpture and examined it from all sides. The craftsmanship was not bad, and the finishing was fine.

There would be heroes who would be pleased to receive this.

I casually tossed the sculpture.

It hit the side of a fountain and toppled over, breaking the front leg and separating the upper and lower parts.

Iselle's mouth hung open in shock.

Once again, I lifted her drooping jaw up.

Then, I closed the door to my housing and headed inside.

"If you're going to give gifts, give them to everybody."
