Chapter Text
After Jon, Loras and Robar were accepted into Elendils household, the banquet was much more lively as the nobles of Arnor joked and made merry content with the knowledge that such admirable warriors had joined the service of their King, many rejoiced as none could hope to best Jon Herenlóunga or slayer of Herenlókë.
Jon's lovers, along with Sansa and Arya as well as Lady Írimë, noticed that the nobles of Arnor had something else in mind while they were content to praise Jon and question him about his homeland, but as the party wore on, the intentions of the nobles became all too clear.
One by one, the nobles of the Court began to introduce Jon to there daughters, cousins, sisters, nieces, even their wives.
Although Loras and Robar received a great deal of attention, the fact that Jon had personally spoken with the Elder King and Lord Ulmo and slew a worm of the great enemy made him a worthy prize for the nobles of Annúminas who hoped to secure a marriage between their daughters and Jon.
One by one, the court maidens appeared before Jon, Loras and Robar, but all the women of Westeros and Lady Írimë quickly realized that Jon was the object of their affections as the ladies kept asking him for a dance, something that Jon accepted out of courtesy least he offends them.
As expected, that made them furious ... Jon noticed their ire and simply gave them a charming smile hoping to calm them; alas, this did little to soothe their jealousy as the ladies of Arnor blushed and swooned in the arms of this handsome knight.
Finally, Jon's lovers couldn't bear to seem him surrounded by so many lovely maidens; Jon's lovers began to switch places, constantly dancing with him to keep away all these potential suitors; the most surprising thing is that even Lady Írimë was helping in this endeavour.
The reason was apparent, now that Finwë's daughter understood that she was indeed in love with Jon, she will fight to have his love, whatever happens ... She will be by his side ... Until the day he must leave Arda.
How terrible it will be to face the ages of this world without Jon ... But such are the destinies of the Firstborn and Second Born ... The mere thought of that fills her with melancholy.
Her thoughts led her to the memory of one of her nephews, Aegnor, one of the sons of her brother Finarfin, he saw the young Andreth, and they fell in love with each other. However, he could not return her love during the Siege of Angband, since according to the customs of the Eldar, no marriages were usually desired during a time of war. It is said that because of her sake, he would not take any Elven bride. Aegnor was slain in the Dagor Bragollach by the flames from Thangorodrim. Centuries after his death, When Mandos and Manwë offered him reincarnation, Aegnor refused since he knew that his beloved Andreth had already passed away. He claimed, "I shall never return to a world where her beauty has been extinguished for the world shall be eternally dark" ... And therefore Írimë's nephew shall remain in the blessed realm until Arda breaks.
What will happen to her when Jon had passed? ... Will she have the strength to face all ages of this world? ... Or will her pain at losing Jon be too great, and she too shall wait in the rooms of command the end of Arda to reconnect with her love just as Aegnor hopes to meet Andreth?
Both filled her with dread ... But there was nothing she could do ... except love him with all the strength of her spirit and spend those happy days in bliss and joy.
That is the destiny of the unions between the Firstborn and the Second Born ... With the exception of Tuor and Idril.
"Jon. My heart tells me that it is not yet time to tell you the truth of my heart ... So I will wait," Írimë said with a melancholic expression watching Jon being dragged around by his lady loves.
... But I can still enjoy his company ... Írimë thought with joy
With this, a resigned Írimë went to join the fight for Jon, practically demanding a dance from the exhausted knight who despite his fatigue had no choice but to agree to the delight of Fingolfin's sister who felt Jon's soft but strong hands on her waist it set her blood aflame with passion, and Írimë could do nothing to hide the blush on her cheeks nor her smile that glittered like the stars.
... I look like a shy maiden ... Although I have still been a maiden for thousands of years since I left my shyness, I wish you could see what you have reduced me to just with your touch Jon Snow ...
-------------------------------------
The following day, Jon, his sisters, and companions headed to the Throne Room as King Elendil wished to speak with them.
The welcome party had lasted much of the night, and Jon couldn't remember when was the last time they had so much fun; Jon would always treasure the memories of his days in the Gray Havens. Still, he was always studying or practising; there was hardly ever a time for merriment; at that time, everyone was wholly dedicated to fulfilling the will of the Elder King, so they cast aside the worldly pleasure to harden their resolve for the days ahead.
Though he still missed Khazad-dum a great deal, Jon and the others had a grand time until they drank the dwarf mead and made a fool of themselves, not to mention what happened in Harlond.
But in Annúminas, being surrounded by men instead of elves or dwarves. It felt right; it really felt good to celebrate with his distant kindred, even if only for one night.
Jon's predicament was that all his loves now observed his movements to the last detail not only because of what happened to the dragon, but the most disconcerting was that the noble's of Arnor wished to adopt Jon into their house through the most promising course marriage.
As if having five extraordinarily jealous and possessive lovers was not enough, and now with a great many admirers he had acquired at the welcoming feast. The jealousy of his loves only worsened during the night as he was forced to dance with them till the early hours of the morning.
... Well, no way ... Jon thought resigned.
-----
The Westerosi youths finally reached the Throne Room, and to everyone's surprise, in addition to King Elendil and his son Anárion, Lord Glorfindel, Lady Írimë, and Queen Rhaella were also there.
Seeing Jon, Írimë smiled, and his smile seemed to brighten the throne room even more.
"Good morning. I am glad to see that you will join us after all," Elendil said, sitting on his throne.
"My king," said Jon, Loras and Robar at the same time kneeling before Elendil while the Ladies only bowed.
"Grandmother, Lord Glorfindel ... Lady Írimë," Said Jon paying his respects.
"Good morning, dear", Rhaella said with a smile.
Glorfindel and Lady Írimë nodded.
"Rise my knights, I have called you here this morning because I wish to show you something of great value," Elendil said.
That piqued everyone's curiosity.
"But first…" The High King gestured to his son Anárion, and with a nod, he took out a light wooden chest and handed it to Jon.
"There's no need…"
"Actually, it is wholly necessary, Jon," Anárion said with a smile.
A curious Jon, along with the others watching him, opened the box and realized that there were two objects inside.
First was a great warhorn bound with gold and set with many rubies scored on the bands of gold were ancient characters; it also bore a baldric of fine leather.
Jon instantly recognized the horn; it was the one he had cut from Herenlókë's corpse.
An excited Jon now directed his gaze to the second object and took out a cloak of greenish-black leather; the cloak was magnificent, strong, and light; the most amazing thing is that was the three-headed dragon of House Targaryen decorated in rubies upon the back.
"It's the piece of skin that I brought from the dragon…" Jon said in amazement, looking at his new cape.
"By the Valar ..." Rhaenys said, impressed, looking at Jon's cloak with envy.
"It's beautiful .." Dany said excitedly, touching the cape.
"Let me see it, Jon", Arya asked excitedly for everyone's amusement.
"I did not expect them to be ready so soon, my king", Jon said with admiration when he saw the work of the Numenoreans.
"Honestly, nor did I, my artisans and goldsmiths, worked tirelessly hoping to gain your favour... Personally ... I think they surpassed themselves," Elendil said with admiration.
"I agree, father. Jon's trophies are beautiful," Anárion said, some envy in his voice.
"Grandma ... I guess putting House Targaryen heraldry on the cloak was your idea," Jon said with confidence. To which the former Queen of Westeros nodded happily.
"It doesn't matter your last name, Jon ... The blood of the dragon runs through your veins, so I thought it was time to make it known," Rhaella said, smiling at her grandson.
"Put it on my White Wolf," Arianne said with a smile.
"Yes, Jon put it on", Arya seconded happily.
Seeing the anxious expression on his lovers' faces, Jon smiled and put the cape on his shoulders, and as he did so, everyone widened their eyes at the sight of Jon.
In the morning sun cast a fiery glow around the young lord, the diadem upon his brow glittered like silvered flame, and many thought he resembled a king of the elder days. In the four years since his arrival Jon had grown in height and countenance, standing at six foot even where once he was lean, the white wolf now sported a robust physique. It was apparent to all despite being clad in armour, Jon had heavy shoulders, a thick neck, and strong arms; he wore his hair long flowing down to his shoulders in a black mane. However, he kept his beard trimmed; his bearing was one of strength and wisdom befitting a lord of Westernesse, coupled with his dazzling eyes, showed the true beauty of Jon snow.
It was amazing how a single cloak gave such a greater bearing. Jon truly looked like a Dragon Lord of Ancient Valyria despite his northern features.
For a few moments, no one said anything, but as the men looked at him in admiration, the women in the room were deeply flushed at the image of the young Targaryen.
"Magnificent ..." Robar said at the sight of Jon with his cape.
"I desire a cloak of scales as well", Loras said, looking at Jon with a mixture of admiration and envy.
"So do I", Rhaenys sighed; her half brother was the dream of any maiden. Hearing all of them, Elendil and Glorfindel laughed a little amused.
"A magnificent prize without a doubt," Anárion said with some envy in his voice.
Seeing that his youngest son also wanted a cloak of scales, the King of the Dunedain smiled and laughed heartily.
"The corpse of the dragon is still in its cavern; if you want a cloak, I recommend that you go and cut some leather as soon as possible; the corpse of a dragon begins to lose its properties in a week, not to mention the soldiers who will also want some of that skin. But I must warn you the hide of a dragon is stronger than iron; you shall need a stout arm and a keen blade to cut into its hide, "Elendil said with amusement when he saw the expression on his son's face and of the Westerosi Knights.
"Damn you, Jon, you should have cut more leather," Loras said with some annoyance.
"I'm sorry, brother, if you so desire, we can return to the cave ... and though, I appreciate the detail of putting the heraldry of my family's House on this cape ... I wish they had used scarlet thread rather than rubies," Jon said humbly.
"Don't worry, nothing was wasted when fashioning the cloak ... All the rubies that were used to make that cloak are yours ... They are a part of horde you claimed when you slew the Worm'," Elendil said, amused.
"Treasure?. What treasure? " Sansa asked, clearly intrigued.
"The Enemy gave the dragon a vast horde of treasure as an incentive to attack the soldiers of Arnor and kill King Elendil ... In exchange, it would receive the City of Annúminas and all its treasures," Jon said arching an eyebrow looking to a smiling Sansa.
"And then you kept that treasure," said Winterfell's eldest daughter with a smile and Jon sighed in resignation as he remembered the promise he made to her in the Gray Havens many summers ago when he returned from Khazad-Dum.
"I must admit that I have not seen the treasure in all its splendour, but if there is anything you desire among the horde, it shall be yours, Sansa," Jon said with a smile to his cheerful cousin, who gladly hugged him with all her strength.
"You promised me something to Jon!" Arya said, hitting Jon on the shoulder only to realize that her cousin's cape blunted the blow.
Seeing the reaction of the little wolf, everyone in the Great Hall began to laugh.
"Don't worry", little sister ", I have not forgotten about you ... As I remember, there are some weapons and armour in the treasure ... you may chose whichever one catches your eye", Said Jon stroking Arya's head; much to her delight, she happily joined her older sister and hugged her cousin.
They all looked with amusement at Jon's weariness expression as he "looked after" his cousins.
"Well, it looks like those two wolves got ahead of us," Shiera said with a smile.
"Too bad", Ashara replied; amused by the scene, Jon's sisters quickly hoarded a part of their cousin's treasure using only a promise.
"It's not fair; I want something too," Dany said, thinking of getting a dagger or at least a necklace.
"And me," Rhaenys said, hoping to procure a set of plate armour.
Queen Rhaella listening to her daughter and granddaughter, only sighed tiredly as she shook her head.
"You Westerosi are a lively folk," King Elendil said, observing the way the Westerosi behave.
"It gets used to it after a while, Your Majesty ... though, there is something I want to ask you since we arrived in Annuminas," Glorfindel said, looking at Elendil with curiosity.
"What is it about?" Answered the King.
"You knew we would come to your city; however, due to the haste with which we travelled, Lord Cirdan was unable to send messengers to inform you ... So how did you know?" The ancient elf asked curiously.
"That's a good question, King Elendil; in fact, I'm curious too," Írimë said smiling, briefly separating her gaze from Jon, who was being cornered by his cousins and lovers all vying for a piece of treasure.
"It would be more prudent to show you, and I think it's better for those young people to accompany us", Elendil replied, looking at the Westerosi who were still conversing with each other.
Sighing, the Great King of Arnor and Gondor rose from his throne and motioned for them to follow him; when the Westerosi saw him rise from his throne, they stopped talking, and Jon, Loras, and Robar adopted a severe expression waiting to receive orders, but the King only signalled that follow him.
The Westerosi and the two elves followed Elendil and Anárion up some behind the throne and up a winding staircase for what seemed like hours until they reached thick oaken doors adorned with various jewels an inscription upon the archway in Quenya.
"Beyond these gates, only those who carry the blood of Elros are allowed to pass."
Elendil opened the doors using a golden key that he hid in his robes and his guests realized that they had reached one of the towers of the Royal Palace; the room had a circular shape with white gold pillars as it was illuminated by the light of an astrarium each constellation was composed of diamonds and sapphires.
In the centre of the room, there was a strange altar upon which rested a large stone; the stone was dark, black as jet it seemed to hold some great power as the High King stared at the object with some reverence.
"What is that sphere?" Loras asked, interested, but before someone answered, Lady Írimë approached the sphere with an amused smile and looked at Elendil intrigued.
"I should have imagined", Írimë said with a nostalgic smile on her face that was noticed by the others.
"Yes, I already knew that you would recognize it, my Lady", The Great King said solemnly.
Upon hearing the exchange of words, the Westerosi were confused as they did not know what that mysterious object was.
"I'm sorry, King Elendil, Lady Írimë, we don't know what that sphere is," Jon said, confused since he had never seen such an artefact in all his studies.
"That is a Palantíri," Glorfindel said, gazing at the sphere with keen interest while Jon, Daenerys, Robar, Queen Rhaella, and Shiera were quite shocked.
"What is a Palantíri?" Rhaenys asked.
"I would like to know it too," Ashara seconded.
"Tell us please", Sansa said with curiosity, causing the Elf Lady to turn around and smiled at them with amusement, but her eyes were only focused on Jon, which along with her charm, caused Jon's face to turn a pleasant shade of scarlet. Much to the joy of Írimë and the annoyance of the others who already knew Írimë's intentions perfectly.
"Fëanor himself wrought them, in days so long ago that the time cannot be measured in years.', these spheres are among some of his greatest creations perhaps even greater than the Silmarils," Írimë said with some melancholy as she remembered those days of peace and plenty.
Upon hearing it, Jon approached the sphere, eager to contemplate its majesty.
"I had heard about these artefacts, but this is the first time I have seen one ... It is magnificent," Jon said admiringly.
"And quite useful" It was because of these stones that we knew of your coming to Annuminas, "Anárion said.
"Through a glass sphere?" Arya asked curiously.
At that moment, everyone who knew about the Palantirí began to laugh at the others' confusion.
"What is so amusing?" Arya asked, starting to get irritated.
"The Palantirí are not just pretty baubles," Írimë said to everyone's curiosity.
"Then, please explain what they are", Rhaenys growled as she was not content to remain in ignorance.
"I will ... After all, it was my brother who wrought them in days long past," Lady Írimë said with satisfaction seeing Rhaenys' ignorance on the subject.
Rhaegar's daughter only observed her rival with a penetrating gaze generating tension between the two, while both Ladies were observed by all who were just waiting for a fight... But fortunately, Írimë only smiled and began to explain the purpose of the stones.
"The Palantirí, also known as" Seer Stones ", are artefacts created by Fëanor for various purposes, but the purpose of these crystals is twofold: Now these Stones had this virtue that those who looked therein might perceive in them things far off, whether in place or in time. For the most part, they revealed only things near to another kindred Stone, for the Stones each called to each; but those who possessed great strength of will and of mind might learn to direct their gaze whither they would. Írimë replied with some weariness as she remembered how much Fëanor liked to flaunt his creations.
"Is something wrong, my Lady?" Glorfindel asked, concerned.
"Not at all, I only remembered some details of my family life", Írimë replied with some disgust, much to the confusion of those present.
"Your knowledge of these artefacts is profound, my Lady," said Jon, genuinely impressed by Írimë and hoping that the compliment will cheer her up, but it only seemed to have the opposite effect.
"It is inevitable sadly, every time Fëanor invented something new, he would gather us all to show us his creations or rather flaunt his keen intellect," Írimë said wearily.
"I understood that the relationship between him and you, the children of his stepmother, was very complicated," Jon said with trepidation.
"Showing us his creations and bragging about them was the only thing for which he tolerated my mother, my brothers, sister and me ... I am very sorry, but this has brought back very bitter memories, I do not wish to speak more about my half brother's creations ... Please King Elendil, could you explain the rest? " Írimë asked in an apologetic tone.
"It will be my pleasure, Lady Írimë," Said the King formally and the monarch of Arnor, seeing how the mood of the beautiful elf changed, and he approached the sphere.
"As Lady Írimë said, the primary use of these stones is to see great distances; to activate them, the bearer of the Palantirí must be oriented correctly. Then you must channel your will into the stone and face the direction you wish to direct your gaze; for example, if I wish to see westward, I stand on the east side of the stone. The greatest of the Palantirí can be rotated, and, therefore, it is not necessary to move them, "Elendil explained.
"These artefacts are extraordinary," Arianne said, looking at the Palantirí in amazement.
Elendil and Anárion nodded.
"Yes, indeed they are, the Palantirí These stones were gifts of the Eldar to my father Amandil for the comfort of the Faithful of Númenor in their dark days when the Elves might come no longer to that land under the shadow of Sauron," Elendil said with some sadness when remembering those dark times.
"I am so sorry, my king, it was not my intent to bring you such grief with those memories," Jon said sadly.
"Do not fret, Jon, those times are over; those who rejected Eru's light and embraced the darkness paid dearly. Returning to our explanation: To communicate with another stone, the user must orient themselves and look towards that stone's location, and the two stones will automatically connect to each other unless one was being used in another conversation. The bearer of the stone shall direct his mind towards those he wishes to speak to. The users between the two stones will see each other, but only the thoughts will be heard, "The Great King said.
"What an amazing gift ... In Westeros, those Stones would be priceless", said Queen Rhaella looking at the Palantíri with amazement and delight.
"I do not doubt it, here they are also treasured, however using them is not easy and can be very dangerous if you are not prepared," Elendil said seriously.
"What do you mean, my lord?" Shiera asked, eager to learn more about the mystical seeing stones of Numenor.
"Using these stones requires extraordinary willpower ... however, a skilled mind can direct their will across vast distances and see all before them, even without touching the stone. However, this concentration was quite demanding, causing weariness of the mind and spirit; therefore, we do not use it daily, except in dire need. We use them mainly for consultation, for the purpose of exchanging news necessary to government, or advice and opinions; less often in simple friendship and pleasure or in greetings and condolence. Although it takes many long years to master the seeing stone, "Elendil said, looking away from the Palantíri.
"You spoke of the Palantíri in the plural ... Do you have more than one?" Steal asked curiously.
"Yes, I brought with me on our journey to Middle-earth after the tragic Fall of Númenor, and when we founded our Kingdoms of Arnor and Gondor just a few years ago, I decided that they would be distributed in seven different locations, I kept three of them here in Arnor, and I gave the remaining four to my children when they founded Gondor. "
"My brother Isildur and I are left with three of the seven stones; we set up Stones at Minas Anor, and at Minas Ithil, and at Orthanc in the ring of Isengard. The chief and master of these was under the Dome of Stars at Osgiliath, the capital of our Kingdom of Gondor, "Anárion said proudly to Elendil's amusement.
"Is the Palantiri of Osgiliath the most powerful?" Jon asked, curious that that stone was in the South and not in the North with the Great King.
"Yes, the principal function of the Palantirí is to observe from a distance, but there are some that have unique functions, the Palantirí of Osgiliath is undoubtedly the most powerful of all the ones that I brought from Númenor, this is because more than seeing at a distance its main function is to control the others as well as spy on the conversations between them ... Except for one, "Elendil said with a smile when he saw Anárion's snort.
"What does that mean?" Loras asked with curiosity and amusement to see the reactions between father and son.
"In the Tower Hills in Eriador, there is a tower that is taller and more glorious than the rest ... Elostirion, which raised by King Gil-galad in commemoration of our friendship. And there the Seeing Stone of Emyn Beraid was set ever vigilant over the sundering sea ... And with its power, I may gaze upon distant Aman in the west, "Elendil said before the stunned gaze of Westerosi.
"That's amazing ..." Jon and Shiera said simultaneously.
"Yes, my father's stone is connected only with the" Master Stone "of the Palantirí, the largest and most potent of all in Arda, that stone is found in the Tower of Avallónë on the Isle of Tol Eressëa, therefore not it can be used to communicate with the other stones that are in Middle Earth, "Anárion said now completely serious.
"Have you seen the Blessed Kingdom King Elendil?" Daenerys asked excitedly, and the King nodded.
"Only a part. The City of Avallónë on the Isle of Tol Eressëa, but with a considerable and exhausting effort on my part on a few occasions I have glimpsed the great Ports of Alqualondë, and I am afraid I saw their ships with sails of silver and prows shaped like swans next to the pure and waters that glittered like sapphires, a sight so beautiful that its beauty surpasses all the Ages of this world. But I can only see it for a few brief minutes, and the effort of doing so leaves me fatigued for days. So when I use that Palantirí, I direct my gaze to the City of Avallónë, "Elendil said, all the while noticing the amazement of his guest, who had become increasingly enraptured by the stones.
"I understand the curiosity of wanting to see the land of Aman because with the exceptions of Lady Írimë and Lord Glorfindel none of us has seen the Blessed Kingdom, but if you forgive my daring my King, as you describe it to see beyond The City of Avallónë is exhausting. Why are you trying so hard if it is so damaging to you? " Robar asked, intrigued.
For a few moments, Elendil was impassive, and everyone thought that Robar had asked something he shouldn't have, but the King only sighed.
"I had hoped to hear word from my father ... Amandil," Elendil said with great sadness, and for a moment, the proud king seemed almost mortal.
The Westerosi just looked at Elendil's saddened countenance and thought that something tragic must have happened.
"My king, are you well?" Jon asked, concerned.
"I only remembered a few bitter moments, young Jon. My father, Amandil, was the last Lord of Andúnië In the days of their youth together, my father had been dear to Pharazôn, and though he was of the Elf-friends, he remained in his council until the coming of Sauron. But alas, Ar-Pharazon dismissed my father from the council, for Sauron hated him above all others in Númenor. But he was so noble, and had been so mighty a captain of the sea, that he was still held in honour by many of the people, and neither the King nor Sauron dared to lay hands on him as yet ... Ar-Pharazôn, being besotted, ... began to ponder in his heart how he might make war upon the Valar. ... And my father, ... was dismayed and filled with a great dread, for he knew that Men could not vanquish the Valar in war, and that ruin must come upon the world if this war were not stayed. Therefore he summoned my children and Me and told us of his plan; my father secretly made his preparations so that a terrible punishment would not fall on our house. And he ordered me to prepare ships to land in the port of Rómenna to escape when the chance presented itself. My father set sail in a small ship at night and steered first eastward, and then went about and passed into the west. And he took with him three servants, dear to his heart, and never again were they heard of by word or sign in this world, nor is there any tale or guess of their fate." Elendil said with pity.
Nobody said anything when hearing the story of the King's father, only that they were surprised and amazed that someone tried to sail west despite the danger to help his people.
"Do you think they made it?" Shiera asked.
"I don't know, I want to believe that they did, because, when we started sailing, the cataclysm occurred that destroyed Númenor but at that moment, a strong wind carried our ships to the East and dragged us towards the shores of Middle-earth. Although on the way my children and I parted ways ... I want to think that this wind was the mercy of the Valar that my father won for us, "Elendil said sadly.
For a few moments, no one said anything, knowing how difficult it must be for the King to talk about those difficult moments, it was then that Anárion, feeling that they had deviated from the main topic, cleared his voice and took a step forward while looking at the Palantirí.
"It seems to me that we deviate a bit from the topic", Said the young King with a sad smile.
"Thank you, King Anárion," Ashara said while looking at Shiera with love and compassion because she knows how difficult it is still for her to talk about the destruction of Númenor.
At that moment, Elendil collected himself.
"My son is right; I apologize for deviating from the topic. The existence of the Palantirí is not common knowledge among the free peoples, and normally no one is allowed easy access to them, except our Stewards, appointed guardians or by royal order ... You have been entrusted with a great secret, " Elendil said, looking at them intensely, leaving Westerosi ill at ease.
"We are honoured by your trust, my king ... We will not disappoint you," Jon said proudly, something that Loras and Robar quickly seconded, to which Elendil nodded.
"Now, Jon ... If you don't mind, I want to continue our conversation from yesterday. .. I want you to tell me everything you talked about with Lord Manwë," Elendil said with authority.
"Yes, we want to know what Aman is like," Arya said, approaching Jon suddenly.
"Arya, behave yourself… I'm sorry, King Elendil," Sansa said, embarrassed by her sister's irreverent behaviour, bowing to the High King.
Elendil, for his part, only laughed at the scene.
"Peace my girl ... Your sister just asked aloud a question that all mortals have asked ourselves since we learned about the Valar from Finrod Felagund who was the first friend and mentor of the Eldar who had the first of my ancestors ... And who once wore this ring, "Elendil said raising his left hand showing a curious and beautiful ring.
The ring was like to twin serpents, whose eyes were emeralds, and their heads met beneath a crown of golden flowers, that the one upheld and the other devoured; Jon and the others recognized it instantly from the tomes of lore they had studied in the great library of the Havens... that was the badge of Finarfin and his house.
"Is that Barahir's ring?" Jon asked excitedly.
"Yes, a relic of my house that dates from the time of Beren himself, from whom I descend," Said the King, proud of his lineage.
"It's beautiful," Sansa said, marvelling at the craftsmanship of the Noldor of Aman.
"Yes, it is, without a doubt an irreplaceable relic, but I'm afraid that doesn't come to the point ... Jon, I still await your answer," Elendil said with authority.
Jon smiled and nodded as he desired to share the great knowledge that he gained from Lord Manwë.
"How my king ordered…" Jon said, clearing his voice.
For the next few minutes, Jon told everyone how he awoke in Manwë's mansions in Ilmarin and was guided by Manwë out of the mansion where he could see the entire Blessed Kingdom from the holy mountain of Taniquetil.
In recounting the freshness and purity of Valinor's air, everyone felt the adventurous spirit and a great longing to visit the blessed Isle.
"I got a glimpse of the golden roofs of Valmar" The City of Bells "home to the Ainur living in Arda as well as the Vanyar Elves and also Ezellohar the sacred hill on which the" Two Trees "shone and also Máhanaxar" the Ring of the Judgment "where the Valar impart their judgments, finally further east of Aman I could glimpse Tirón the White City of the Noldor rising above Tuna, its streets and white buildings, its own land shining like diamonds ... Oh, how it weighs on my soul only to see it from a distance and not to walk its streets, the City where the Lady Írimë and the Great King Fingolfin were born from whom you descend my king, "Said Jon feeling sad at only having been able to give a glimpse of the Blessed Kingdom.
Hearing Jon speak in such an eloquent and passionate way, everyone sighed with a longing to know those mythical lands, and even Glorfindel and Írimë had for a moment the desire to go to the Gray Havens and sail to Valinor.
"You have an extraordinary gift with the words Jon", Elendil said shedding tears of longing to wish now more than ever to know the Paradise of the Valar; when listening to Jon for a few moments, both Elendil and Anárion sympathized with the "Men of the King" for being wroth against the Valar".
"Jon is the best singer we had in Mithlond; many cried for his departure when he decided to come to Annúminas and even tried to get him and his companions to postpone their trip until Lord Cirdan reprimanded them," Glorfindel said with a smile.
Elendil and Anárion widened their eyes in surprise as they did not know that Jon was such a prodigious bard.
"You didn't tell us you had that you possessed such talent," Anárion said, arching an eyebrow as Jon blushed.
"The topic never came up", He said with some regret.
"Oh, my white wolf ... You're still so shy," Arianne said with a smile before kissing Jon tenderly on the lips.
"Ari…" Jon said, feeling somewhat embarrassed at the Dornish Princess' show of affection in front of King Elendil and his son.
But the King only had a smile and nods of approval, while Anárion, Loras, and Robar struggled to contain their laughter at Jon's expression.
"Don't worry, Anárion has already told me about your ..." Peculiar "relationship ... I'm impressed ... You're an exceptional young man", Elendil said with amusement.
This time, Jon and Arianne, Rhaenys, Daenerys, Ashara, Shiera and even Írimë herself blushed scarlet. However, Queen Rhaella and Sansa and Glorfindel were uncomfortable discussing such things in front of the High King.
Arya was the only one who did not understand Jon and the others' annoyance or why Jon's companions laughed along with the King and his son. She wanted to know why she felt that they left her out again. The little wolf turned to her cousin and caught his eye by tugging on his cloak.
"Yes, Arya?" Jon asked, turning to his "little sister-"
"Why is your relationship with them 'peculiar'?" Arya asked naively.
As soon as he said this, Loras and Anárion finally laughed while the rest looked alarmed at Arya, who was increasingly curious. Since the Stark sisters arrived at the Gray Havens, Jon and his lovers were very careful that the girls didn't catch them doing something wrong, although Ashara and Jon suspected that Sansa knew about their relationship.
But not Arya. Jon and his Ladies glared at Loras and Anárion, who kept laughing as Jon looked for a way out of this problem.
"Jon?" The little wolf said impatiently.
"Arya ... I think You should forget that for now," Jon said, carefully choosing his words, but the little girl was not happy.
"But I want to know... What is their relationship with Jon? .. And why do they find it so funny ?!" Arya asked, annoyed watching Loras and Anárion laugh, but a nervous Ashara placed her hands on the girl's shoulders and tried to divert her attention.
"My girl, you better forget about it for now... you shall learn the truth eventually," Said the Lady of Starfall, blushing and nervous, glaring at the reckless knights who finally saw that everyone in the room was staring at them reproachfully.
"Very well, but I'll ask again; this is not over," Arya said, getting discouraged as Jon and his Ladies sighed and looked at Anárion and Loras as if they were going to stab them.
"You haven't learned anything, Anárion," Elendil said, looking at his youngest son with disappointment.
"Father?" The young King asked, confused and scared.
"Neither do you .. Loras... Maybe you should triple your time in the tiltyard," Glorfindel said sternly, ending the smile and joy of his apprentice.
"And you, my youngest son, perhaps you should clean the royal stables before returning to Gondor ... Again," Elendil said sternly.
Seeing the two knights being reprimanded as children Jon and all the Ladies smiled with delight as they had a satisfying sense of revenge. At that moment, Elendil sighed.
"I apologize, Jon, please ... Continue with your tale," Elendil asked, and Jon nodded.
"Yes, my king," Jon said, giving his friend a warning look for his recklessness.
That's when Jon recounted the part of his conversation with Manwë, perhaps the most important as it helped him understand his role in Arda, for all Westerosi as well as for Írimë, Glorfindel, Elendil and Anárion it was a real shock to discover that who Jon and the others not only fulfilled the will of the Valar but also the will of Eru himself and that it was he who chose Jon through Manwë because in Arda nothing happens outside of the will and designs of Ilúvatar.
But everyone was surprised when Jon revealed that Manwë quoted Eru's own words about Ainulindale to Jon, specifically the part in which Melkor rebelled against his creator, causing discord in the music.
Knowing that Jon had been endowed with this ancient knowledge by Manwë himself, both Írimë and Glorfindel, as well as Elendil and Anáron, looked at Jon with veneration in their eyes.
"Is that true, Jon?" Robar said as he understood the seriousness of such a discovery.
"Yes, my friend, that's right, according to Lord Manwë, it was Ilúvatar who has brought us all here, at this moment because we are only his instruments for grandiose purposes that we still do not understand because the father of all has not revealed his true intention the young warrior said solemnly.
"I don't know what to say to that ... Actually," Arianne said, shocked and feeling truly insignificant for the first time in her life.
A sentiment that was shared by everyone in the room, with the exception of Glorfindel.
For all of them, Eru Ilúvatar was a rather strange figure, perhaps the most mysterious of all since even the Valar do not know his thoughts or intentions until he decides to reveal them and the elves were no better since they only knew what As the Valar told them, Eru's activities regarding Arda's life are not very clear. Manwë was Eru's representative in Arda and sometimes seeks his counsel:
As in the creation of the mythical Ents or before the Battle of the Powers, after which Morgoth was imprisoned since they learned of the existence of "The One", Westerosi had mixed feelings about him ... For despite his role as creator of the world, Ilúvatar seems a distant figure to both elves and men.
In the continents of Essos, there is a multitude of religions, and in Westeros, there are only three that are worth mentioning, "The old gods", "The faith of the seven", and "The Drowned God".
Religion is a fundamental issue in Westeros; the Westerosi had been instilled with the values of their religion as youths and never questioned these wise men or noble septas who preached the loved of the seven alas, they did not know whether to believe the words of Lord Ulmo about the existence of Eru to their own shame and many assumed he was false, however after Having seen the wonders of the Eldar, as well as the feats of power of Lord Ulmo the Westerosi had to accept reality, the religions of Essos and Westeros, worshipped false deities although the Old Gods existed they were not gods, but Maias and their worship went from the "Children of the Forest" to "The First Men" , which sometimes led to the question of what precisely the "Children of the Forest" were.
But discovering the existence of Erú ... That was ... Really... Devastating, they, their parents, their families ... All those whom they loved worshipped false idols for thousands of years. Draw away from the creator of Arda. At first, Jon and the others were afraid of Erú's wroth for having bowed before false deities, especially since they discovered the "Fall of Númenor" but Lord Cirdan and other elves helped them understand that Ilúvatar loved his creations despite straying from them and would not punish them for something like that unless they openly reveal themselves to him and the Valar as the Númenóreans had done.
Those words gave Jon and the others a sense of peace ... a peace that just ended abruptly with Jon's story. For now, they know that they are not only under the watchful eye of the Valar but also that of Ilúvatar.
The mere thought of it filled them with terror because in all of them, the desire to fulfil the expectations of the "Father of all" was born, but they did not believe that that was possible because they, the Westerosi, we're only mortal and cursed by the passage of years how could they achieve all the great creator wished for them after straying from his light for so many years?
That thought only saddened Westerosi until they saw Jon make a reproachful face.
"Jon?" Loras asked.
"It seems to me that you're afraid of not meeting the expectations of the Valar and Ilúvatar… right?" Jon asked, smiling slightly.
"It is so obvious?" Ashara asked, arching an eyebrow.
"My Lady… Do you remember the book of Rumil, The Ainulindalë?" Jon said with a smile that made the Lady of Starfall blush.
"No" was the answer from Arianne, Rhaenys, Loras, Sansa and Arya.
Hearing them, Jon and Glorfinfel shot them a reproachful look.
"In that book, the history of the creation of the Ainur and of this world is related through" Great Music ", that work written by Rúmil, most renowned of the masters of the lore of speech, first devised letters and began recording in writing the tongues of the Eldar and their songs and wisdom.
" Shiera said, arching one of her delicate eyebrows at the shame of the five Westerosi.
"In that work, it is said that when the Ainur learned to sing and make music, And it came to pass that Iluvatar called together all the Ainur, and declared to them a mighty theme, unfolding to them things greater and more wonderful than he had yet revealed; and the glory of its beginning and the splendour of its end amazed the Ainur so that they bowed before Iluvatar and were silent.," Jon said solemnly.
"And thus the world was created," Dany said with a smile.
"That's right, Then said Iluvatar to them of the theme that I have declared to you, I will now that ye make in harmony together a Great Music. And since I have kindled you with the Flame Imperishable, ye shall show forth your powers in adorning this theme, each with his own thoughts and devices, if he will. But I will sit and hearken and be glad that through you great beauty has been wakened into song." Jon continued.
"But Morgoth ruined the 'Great Music'. Robar questioned.
"Yes, but that's not the point, the point is that Ilúvatar allowed the Ainur to introduce their own thoughts into the music and even though that did cause Morgoth to ruin it because Morgoth's thoughts actually collided with Eru's Musical Themes because Morgoth wanted to "increase the power and glory of the part assigned to himself." This discordance of Melkor that was evident in his music irreparably damaged this world, "Jon continued.
"We all know that Jon", Loras replied, confused as to why Jon was telling them that story again; even the Stark sisters know it perfectly.
"Because despite all this, Lord Manwë told me that when Ilúvatar rebuked Morgoth, he also offered him praise: 'Mighty are the Ainur, and mightiest among them is Melkor; but that he may know, and all the Ainur, that I am Ilúvatar, those things that ye have sung, I will show them forth, that ye may see what ye have done. And thou, Melkor, shalt see that no theme may be played that hath not its uttermost source in me, nor can any alter the music in my despite. For he that attempteth this shall prove but mine instrument in the devising of things more wonderful, which he hath not imagined.', "Jon said solemnly.
"I don't doubt that it is transcendental for everyone to know that, but what does that have to do with it now?" Shiera asked, intrigued.
"My Lady, think that Arda, our world, is like a blank canvas, if Ilúvatar is the painter who paints a masterpiece, the Ainur who descended into the world would be his brush, then the elves and dwarves would be the coloured strokes in his painting "Jon explained speaking calmly.
"What about us, men?" King Elendil asked suddenly. To which Jon smiled.
"We, my King, have a very different but no less unique role ... Although the most skilled painter paints a picture, it is not possible that he does not have at least one flaw, and that is what we are ... We men, the Second Born are the imperfections of the painting, "Jon said to the surprise and shock of everyone who could not believe Jon's words of such derogatory to his own race.
"Jon…" Írimë said, surprised that he had said something like that.
"How can you say that the race of men is an imperfection in a painting?" Anárion asked, holding back his indignation.
"I see that they still do not understand it ... There is no painting that does not have at least one flaw, so even a masterpiece is not exempt from them, these flaws are part of the painter's work, but they do not detract from its beauty... They are part of it, and thanks to the imperfections, the beauty and majesty of the painting can be better appreciated; a masterpiece is not perfect because it has no flaws; it is beautiful because of its imperfections, "Jon said, with utter surety.
Everyone's eyes widened as they began to understand what Jon was trying to tell them.
"That is why we should not overwhelm ourselves thinking that we are insignificant because we are mortal and that for that reason we can do little, even with our faults and defects, we have a role to play according to the designs of Ilúvatar and although that role may seem insignificant to us, it is part of the smallness and greatness of Arda. Because this is the work of Erú and all mortals are part of it, contributing to its beauty and glory ... So there is no need to regret, "Said Jon with a passion unrivalled.
For some, no one said anything assimilating Jon's words until Elendil beamed.
"It seems that a sage has come to my kingdom", Said the High King bowing slightly to Jon.
"I agree, father... Master Jon, please excuse my outburst," Anárion asked humbly.
"Think nothing of it, King Anárion", Jon said gently.
"Damn it, Jon, when did you become so wise?" Loras asked, clearly impressed with his friends sage advice.
"I had wise teachers," He said with a sly smile which exasperated Loras and Jon's lovers looked away.
"You are exceptional ... My dragon," Shiera said, unable to contain herself and kissed Jon on the lips to the embarrassment and annoyance of the other Ladies.
But Glorfindel only listened in surprise to Jon's very wise speech about the role of Men in Arda; he was kind, forceful, prudent ... For a few moments, the lord of flowers thought he was not listening to a young mortal, but rather he believed that he was receiving instruction from one of the Ainur.
Glorfindel's thoughts turned to his mentor Olórin, one of the few Maia who daily walks among the Noldor, showing them beautiful visions and sharing with them the Valar's wisdom.
... For a few moments, Jon's speech seemed very similar to Olorin's speech ... Jon, you really are destined for great things ... You will be wise and mighty among the Eldar, Men and Dwarves ... Glorfindel thought with admiration and a smile.
"Wonderful young man... Did you talk about anything else with the Elder King?" Elendil asked, eager to know more.
At that moment, Jon decided to talk about what he wanted most ... Help Maglor return to Valinor, but he knew that for this, he would need the help of Loras and Robar as well as the permission of King Elendil, his new King.
"In fact, my king, there is one thing we talked about ... A request that I made to the Lord of Arda and he in his mercy granted me this boon ... Although subject to a condition, a condition that I now need his permission to fulfil" Said Jon with humiliation.
Surprise and curiosity enveloped the hearts and minds of all who heard him as they were intrigued to learn that Jon asked the King of the Valar and that it was granted.
"What do you speak of, Jon?" Elendil asked with her curiosity barely contained.
"I asked the mercy of the King of Arda for Maglor, the last son of Fëanor who currently lives in self-exile on the island of Tol Morwen", Jon replied with a melancholy countenance.
As soon as those words left Jon's mouth, everyone's eyes widened in surprise, and Lady Írimë held her breath, bringing one of her hands to her mouth as tears came from her eyes.
Maglor, her nephew whom she had never seen since Dagor Bragollach, now had a reprieve from the High King and could return to Valinor ... All because of the mercy and friendship of the young mortal with whom she had fallen hopelessly in love.
At this moment, Írimë would have kissed Jon if Glorfindel were not by his side, and she restrained herself solely because she does not wish to explain herself to the Lord of the House of the Golden Flower.
Maglor had paid for his crimes, the ancient elf traversed the treacherous paths of the Helcaraxë after the betrayal of Fëanor, the enmity between the Noldrian houses had reached a breaking point. Still, Maedhros, after being rescued by Fingon, yielded the throne to Fingolfin, thus achieving a momentary peace in those dark days.
Maglor himself apologized to her in the middle of one of his people's festivals; he always had the gentle character of Nerdanel and was the most reluctant to leave and follow his father in his doomed rebellion. Certainly, Maglor was the most temperate of Feanor's seven sons, the only one who tried to relinquish his claim to the Silmarils.
She disapproved of what he and his siblings did throughout the First Age, the Second and the Third Killing Between Relatives, but by returning to Valinor and understanding that he will never be able to return because of that nefarious and accursed oath that he and his brothers instigated by their father spoke at Tirion. Despite everything that had happened, Írimë felt compassion for her nephew and was with Finarfin, the only one in his family who lamented the fate of the powerful singer, the best of the House of Finwë.
But now, thanks to Jon, Maglor will be able to return to Aman, where he will be able to see his mother and wife, all because of the friendship he cultivated for a few weeks on that blessed island with a young man called by the Valar from the lands beyond the East. Destiny is fun.
"I asked Lord Manwë to allow Maglor to return to Aman, and the Lord of Arda agreed on the condition that I am the one to build the ship that would take him back to Valinor," Jon said grimly.
For a few moments, the whole room was so silent that the noise of the wind could be heard outside the tower since none of those present would have imagined that Sulimo had put such a condition for Maglor's return.
"That is a very complicated request ... And difficult the road to the Blessed Kingdom is closed to mortals since the Fall of Númenor, only the ships built by the elves are allowed to pass," King Elendil said with amazement.
"I know, but Lord Manwë's will is absolute, he told me that if I wished to aid my friend, I must build the ship that will carry him hence, no elf can help build it although I can ask for aid from my companions, "Jon said looking at Loras and Robar with a silent plea in his eyes.
"You will have it, Jon... I shall also gaze upon this mythical stone of sorrows," Loras said, nodding placing a hand on his shoulder.
"And mine. I also wish to pay my respects at the tomb of Turin Turambar," said Robar with a smile.
"I am surprised with you Jon, I never imagined that you would ask such a thing from the Greater King," Glorfindel said, unable to believe the generosity of Jon ... the noble elf had never seen so much generosity in the spirit of a man... And less so in one who's life had been marked by such tragedies.
At that moment, Anárion approached the trio of knights.
"I am more and more intrigued with you Jon Snow, how is it possible that you meet the last member of the House of Fëanor if the legends dating from the First Era say that he roams the shores of the sea singing with remorse and pain," Said the son of Elendil surprised.
"Because there was a moment when I discovered my origins that I did not know how to deal with them, who were my parents, and the folly of their love, I was consumed by grief, and in the midst of my madness and pain, I used the" Conch of Lord Ulmo "to call him, and the Lord of the Waters came to me and took me to Tol Morwen where Maglor has lived since the Fall of Eregion, there we both sympathize with our plight as we were both marked by the folly of our fathers and forged a friendship also he instructed me in the arts of song and verse, Maglor swore never to leave Tol Morwen until the world ends or to receive the judgment of Lord Manwë ... And now he has been granted this boon," Said Jon sadly remembering the sad elf.
"The loyalty that you show to your companions honours you, Jon", Anárion answered with admiration.
"Thank you, that is why now that I have the opportunity to help Maglor return home, to his mother, his wife and the rest of his kindred ... I wish to aid him," Jon said with determination.
"But you have just arrived in this city, and you hardly know King Elendil after waiting four years to meet him; you have just fought a dragon; why do you wish to travel so why go a roaming?" Rhaenys asked, shocked that Jon was leaving again.
A feeling that the other Ladies, as well as Sansa and Arya, shared and gave Jon their most pitiful look to convince him to stay, but they knew very well when they saw the flame of determination in his eyes that this was a losing battle as Jon would never abandon a friend.
"I don't wish to go ... But I can't ignore the suffering of another if it's in my hands to help him; besides, Maglor is dear to me ... I can't abandon him and leave him on that island to wallow in misery and sadness. I know that you are right, I know that not even a week has passed since we arrived, I know that with the exception of Lady Írimë and Lord Glorfindel none of you knows Maglor except for the stories and songs, I know that he committed horrible crimes with his father and his brothers. Still, he has suffered far too long; it is time to redeem the lord of bards, "Said Jon trying to win the approval of his loves for this task; he would go regardless of whatever they told him ... But he felt that if he had the blessing of his loved ones, he would succeed.
"I can understand why you want to help your friend Jon, but do not forget that you swore obedience and vassalage to me; therefore, you know that you need my permission to be absent and fulfil your task," Elendil said with authority.
And Jon humbly bowed to his King.
"I have not forgotten my King; I need your permission to carry out this task... And I was about to ask your permission, please let me go to Tol Morwen and free Maglor from his self-exile," Jon said with all possible humility.
The King of the Dunedin only looked at Jon for a few moments without expression on his face, and all Westerosi took it for granted that he would deny him permission, but Elendil extended his right hand and helped Jon up while smiling.
"I will grant your request, in addition to giving you a boat and an expert crew to take you to Tol Morwen, since finding that sacred is a challenge for any sailor, even for those who learned the art of navigation in Númenor because I am not the one to question the decision of the "First King". If he granted clemency to Maglor despite his crimes, I have no wish to defy his decree; also I really have a great interest in knowing how the story of the last member of the House of Fëanor will end knowing that you are involved "Said the King of Arnor and Gondor with an intriguing smile.
Jon only shed tears of gratitude.
"Thank you very much for your mercy, my king", Jon said, full of gratitude.
When seeing the scene, Jon's Ladies, as well as Sansa and Arya, only observed each other with a bitter expression ... But moved to see how far Jon was willing to go for his friends and loved ones, knowing that it would be cruel to prolong the suffering of Maglor who had been consumed by anguish for centuries it may quiet their hearts to have Jon with them, but the Ladies knew that this would only harm their love by making him live with remorse, so Arianne, Daenerys and Rhaenys approached Jon.
"You can go to Tol Morwen, my white wolf... We don't have the heart to stop you from knowing how much this means to you ... If you stay here for us... You couldn't live in peace knowing you left Maglor to his fate. That's how you are... It's one reason we love you so.. "Arianne said, caressing one of Jon's cheeks.
"We know that you will leave for months, Jon, and it will be a bitter wait ... But it's the right thing to do; you are my moon and stars who has awakened in me the blood of dragons and who brings me joy, and by Eru, I shall love you until the dawn gives way to eternal night, and all that is fair has faded for none has loved me as keenly as you," Dany said, kissing Jon gently.
"You have our blessing Jon, but please be safe; my love for you are the light of my life, and the world would grow far too dim should you perish," Rhaenys said, kissing Jon's forehead.
Queen Rhaella, Ashara, and Shiera took over and gave Jon their blessing to return to Tol Morwen, insisting that he be careful.
Finally, Lady Írimë approached Jon.
"I have no words to express my gratitude for what you have done for my nephew; Maglor was always the kindest and gentle of my brother's children for having inherited the character of his mother; I never approved of the things that he and his brothers did in Beleriand throughout the First Age, all because of that horrible oath. When I found out that he had disappeared at the end of the War of Wrath after stealing one of the Silmarils, I was together with my brother Finarfin who felt sorrow and anguish for his uncertain destiny ... And now thanks to you ... My nephew will be able to return to Valinor and live among its people and atone for his crimes ... I have no way of thanking you, Jon, for what you have done for him ... For my family ... Thank you. "And after those words, Fingolfin's sister leaned a little and kissed Jon on the forehead then kissed him very close to his lips to everyone's surprise.
"My ... My Lady ..." Jon said, about to fall to his knees and lose consciousness from the ethereal beauty and intoxicating aroma of Írimë and the beautiful elf laughed sweetly at the reaction of her love.
"Please, Jon, after what you have done for my family, it is not necessary for you to speak with such formality ... You can call me Lalwendë or Lalwen... In Aman, everyone calls me that," Said the Lady stroking the dark curls of Jon, who still couldn't articulate words due to the proximity of the beautiful elf.
Seeing the scene, Glorfindel's eyes widened with a surprise for revealing one of the elf's names given by his parents and insisting on being called that instead of using the final name chosen by oneself means more than gratitude. It was something private and used only for commitments; there was no longer any doubt in Glorfindel's mind about Lady Írimë's intentions ... She had fallen completely in love with Jon.
... May Erú have mercy on their union just as he had with Tuor and Idril ... The Lord of the Golden Flowers thought with anguish when thinking about the future of the two.
On the other hand, the Stark sisters saw the show of affection with Jon and the Ladies with surprise and annoyance; for Arya, it was practically a shock since she finally understood what the others meant with the "peculiar" relationship between Jon and his Ladies. Just knowing that Jon was being kissed and pampered by all of them filled the little wolf with annoyance, anger and jealousy.
As for Sansa, since she found out about the relationship between Jon and those women, she was filled with surprise since her cousin never seemed like a womanizer, but she thought it better not to get involved in it; after all, it was Jon's life ... But now things had changed since she had that fantasy about her and Jon the night before, Winterfell's eldest daughter kept thinking about her cousin and how handsome, brave and knew that he had become, thinking about those qualities, Sansa's heart begins to beat with force, and a feeling of bitterness and jealousy filled her knowing that those women could kiss him in a way that she could not.
That left Sansa clenching her fists in jealousy and anger.
-------------------------------------------------- -----------------
A few hours after all those revelations Elendil and Anárion took Westerosi to the chambers where the soldiers put the dragon's gold, and it was an exorbitant amount, a few piles of gold and precious stones, and even some pearls in addition to the weapons and armour. Chainmail hanging on the walls.
Indeed, that treasure could not compare in quantity and quality of King Durin's hordes ... But it was something to see, certainly.
Jon had taken his Ladies to see the treasure hoping to cheer them up a bit and distract them from his departure ... But that was somewhat counterproductive.
Jon had to firmly stop Arya, who ran towards the armoury trying to get a sword.
Lady Shiera, being true to the stories told about her, practically appropriated the silver and pearls while Rhaenys took two of the most beautiful battle axes for herself.
Sansa quickly claimed a necklace and a few other pieces of jewellery.
Lady Ashara and Dany strangely took light weapons from the armoury to everyone's confusion.
While Arianne, Lady Írimë and Queen Rhaella only held back their laughter while still figuring out what to take from Jon's depleted treasure.
At that moment, the young Targaryen noticed a beautiful hairpin on one of the stacks of gold coins and took it.
It was an ostentatious hairpin with an emerald inlaid as an ornament and glowed in many colours in the light, feeling a familiar impulse that he had in Khazad-Dûm Jon handed it to the surprised Lady Írimë.
"For you, it is a gift ... Lalwen," Jon said with a smile that left Fingolfin's sister nervous and flushed as she took the hairpin.
"Thank you," she said shyly.
At that moment, Jon saw his depleted treasure again as his Ladies happily claimed part of it.
"Well, as long as they are happy ... Jon thought sadly when he saw how wealth was disappearing in the hands of their loves and their sisters.
Seeing the joy of the ladies, Loras, Robar, Anárion, Elendil and even Glorfindel could not hide their satisfaction at seeing Jon's expression watching his Loves and cousins lay claim to his treasure.
There is no doubt that women love jewellery and shiny metals with the same fierceness as a dragon
None of them could help to notice that if Jon had the qualities to be a wise, brave and robust ruler, he was practically ruled by his lovers and cousins.
"As was said of the Old Lion ... Loras and Robar thought with satisfaction.
