Chapter 52 Going back.

The registration process went smoothly thanks to the station master's presence.

There were some problems because Tommy couldn't name the shipyard from which the ship came but soon enough it was dismissed as a special case.

Also Jessica was over the moon when she heard that her name was placed as the designer of the ship.

Tommy registered himself as the owner and it was completed.

All he had to do now was to install a transponder beacon and they could stay in the coalition space as long as they wanted.

After that Tommy thanked the station master again and they said their goodbyes.

The station master also advised the young mercenary that he should register with the captain's guild to get his license.

Tommy listened to the advice and went to register.

There were no tests or anything of that kind, all it took was 5000 credits and some paperwork.

In the coalition anyone could be a captain but if there was some kind of incident you had to pay from your own pocket, also 5000 credits of registration fee was no small sum,it was enough for a man to live a comfortable life for 3-4 months.

Tommy had the credits they found in the pirates hideout so he wasn't worried especially when in a few days he will sell all the cargo they took.

There were also some local mercenaries who wanted to join his crew but all of them left when he said that they were going back into the empire on some personal business and he won't take more missions for the time being.

The only two exceptions were one young girl who wanted to get experience as a nurse on a ship and a young man who wanted to become a mercenary but as a newbie there was no one who would hire him so he decided to work without pay instead he wanted some training and a letter of recommendation.

They were accepted into the crew and also they both agreed to get the implants.

Also they got the whole story about the crew and the future plans but they agreed with the plan without any complaints.

The next day both of them came aboard and got their implants and dog tags. Later they would get their armor and start the training.

After that came the merchants recommended by the station master and they bought everything that Tommy had to sell.

Using this chance the crew bought some necessary things like better food and some clothes but the biggest purchase were the medicines and some materials for the matter converter to make more of them.

After finishing their business The Star of Vengeance left the station and started its journey back to the empire.

This time they were using commercial routes which were the fastest option to travel long distances.

With a new transponder beacon nobody was surprised to see a warship because many merchants hired mercenaries as escorts so everyone assumed that they were escorting some rich merchant.

The imperial border guards didn't even hail them when they run into a patrol assuming as the rest that they were just mercenaries either on an escort mission or coming to join the war,

In the end war was always profitable for hired guns.

Tommy contacted Daniel when they were back in imperial space.

-Hi there bossman, how are you?

-Thanks to you, I'm being bombarded with requests from the nobles to find a way to save them from you. 

That fleet you destroyed made them scared like hell.

-Well i don't blame them but i have more important matters to discuss like how is my sister doing?

-She is getting better according to Jenny she will be healed physically in another month or so but as to waking her up we have no clue what to do and if she will be even the same person we knew.

-Well it is still better than nothing. Also, I have Alice onboard so maybe she will be able to do something.

-That's great to hear. I will inform Jenny about this.

-I'll be back in HQ within two weeks so tell her to prepare my sister's tank to be transferred to my ship.

-She will not be happy about it.

-I know but I want my sister aboard for safety and also we have a fully equipped med bay that was recently restocked and you wouldn't believe the bill for that.

-Tell me about it. you do remember that I pay for Jenny's medical supplies.

They both laughed at Daniel's remark

Unfortunately for Daniel she just came in and heard what he said which earned him a fist to his shoulder and a death glare from his wife.

-You will get the same treatment when you get your ass back here.

She promised, looking at the screen.

-Nice to see you too.

Tommy said, not afraid of her in the least.

-How is Helen doing?

-She is doing fine but i can't do more for her for now.

-I will be back within two weeks and I have Alice with me so maybe with her help you'll manage to do more.

Anyway I wanted Daniel to tell you but since you are here I'll tell you myself, I want Helen to be ready to transfer to my ship when I get there.

-No way in hell I'm not living with her with you again,you know what happened the last time.

Jenny was angry in an instant.

-The last time I didn't want to get you all into trouble and I was holding back trying not to offend the nobles,now I have learned my lesson there will be no more holding back.

Anyone who will get in my way will die and you know I don't promise what I can't deliver.

She knew that he wasn't joking and he changed a lot since she last saw him.

-Even if you say so,she is safer here than on your ship, not to mention that as her doctor i won't allow that.

-If i'm not mistaken the fleet will be taking part in the defense effort and you want to take Helen with you? Are you kidding me?

Listen to me,I know you love us both like your own children and I understand why you don't want to leave Helen to me but right now this is the best and safest place for her.

I have a cruiser with the firepower of a battleship and shield to match so she will be safe here and if you want you can just come with us. We have the facilities ready for my sister and a medical shuttle that I think is better than even yours.

She knew that she lost and the results of the last battle with the noble ships was proof.

-You win but i'm coming with her.

-Great now that this is out of the way, get Daniel back here because he needs to know about some things I did while I was in the Coalition space.

Moments later Daniel was back .

-What did you do this time?

He asked immediately.

-Well I was low on funds so I took a job under our team name…

Tommy proceeded to inform his boss about the pirate hunt.
