SURPRISE SURPRISE!

The air became awkward when Gabrielle left Fay, and Ace alone in the dining room.

Fay silently continued eating, in hopes to fill the awkwardness with food.

Ace, standing with his back turned to her, took a deep breath, and turned around.

"How are you feeling?" He asked in a sincere and mellow tone.

She looked up as she picked the last piece of her food and dumped it into her mouth.

"I'm fine," she covered her mouth to answer.

"Are you sure? You heard the doctors. You should speak up if you're feeling off."

"You didn't seem to care about their opinion when you forced me out of their house," she began, and paused when she realized she had spoken aloud.

A tiny gasp escaped her throat, and her eyes widened as her eyes came to rest on him.

He didn't flinch, neither did he look disturbed. If anything, she noticed, he looked amused. The corner of his lip twitched, and his eyes twinkled.
