056 Allies

Opening her eyes slowly, Penny found herself slung over the ashen haired man's back. Her head was still groggy, but the thief was able to put together a rough idea of what happened. Despite that mysterious stranger freezing her wound slightly, she fell unconscious due to the heavy blood loss, but was lucky enough for Azel to stumble upon her.

Reaching down to her wound, Penny stifled a groan. Apparently the aloof young man didn't know any healing magic, and had used fire magic to instead cauterized it. She could still feel the lingering amounts of pain, and had to fight back the urge to cry... But at least it was a reminder that she wasn't dead.

Azel didn't react when Penny stirred against his back, but he must have noticed, because he spoke without turning his head.

"You're awake."

Penny took a slow, shaky breath. "You burned me."

Azel, carrying her without apparent strain, barely glanced down. "You were bleeding out."
