The car drove through the city for a long time before finally stopping at the gate of a secluded courtyard.
The entrance was overgrown with weeds, some taller than a person. The wind rustled through them, making a soft, eerie sound. The setting sun cast a gloomy light, creating a scene right out of a horror movie.
Sophia clung tightly to Grace's hand, but Grace shook her off. Sophia followed behind her, too scared to say another word.
"Come on, what are you afraid of?" Jackson urged.
Sophia bit her lip, tears welling up. "I don't want to go. I want to go back."
Jackson stepped in her way. "You think you can just leave after coming here? Do you think I'm as easy to deal with as Emily?"
Sophia cried out, "What do you want? You brought me here to get back at me, right?"
Jackson's lips curled into a cold smile. "You were bound to face consequences sooner or later. I'm just giving you a preview."
