Tears of Betrayal

CHAPTER THIRTY-THREE

"Marine…" Rain called slightly, her voice cracking as she did, she tried to get up but she was unable to, at this moment, what she needed at the moment was someone on her side. Marine got inside the room, she was holding a basin filled with warm water.

Rain's fever increased over the night and she stood by the girl's side through the night, trying everything she could to make her fever come down. But it had proved futile, the girl turned and tossed through the night, her body was as hot as coal.

"What is it?" Marine answered and Rain reached for her, tears spilling from her eyes.

"I had a dream." She said still crying like a child. "I saw my mother, it was from that day she left me."

"My lady please calm down." Marine pulled her into a hug, and rubbed her back soothingly, surprisingly, she noticed the fever had gone. "It was nothing but a dream."
