Doni stared intensely at her, his mind racing with conflicting emotions as a surge of anger pulsed through him. How could she remain so unfazed, so indifferent, even in a situation like this? How could she be so oblivious to his feelings? And why did she bear such a striking resemblance to the duke? Every time he seized her, to end her life, he found himself incapable of following through.

Marine had questioned him before, inquiring if, when the moment came, he would hesitate to bring down his sword upon her and kill her once and for all. But on days like this, he found himself questioning whether he had the resolve to do it.
