Chapter 21-Bar trouble

Mechelle POV

Inside the movie theater, an unusual calmness prevailed. Couples were nestled closely, entranced by the silver screen, their emotions swaying with the story of the protagonists.

I sat there quietly, engrossed in the film, captivated by its poignant narrative. My heart ached for the main characters; despite their deep love for each other, they were compelled to hurt one another, to push each other away deliberately.

As the movie reached its emotional crescendo, a low chorus of sobs echoed throughout the theater. Tears welled up in my eyes as I watched, caught up in the era, the characters, the story...

"Mechelle." A soft voice called me back to reality. As I attempted to pull away, I felt another warm hand envelop mine. I tried to shake it off, but his grip remained firm, causing my face to flush crimson, almost as if blood would trickle down.

"Louis, let go of me!" I protested softly, but his hand remained firmly clasped around mine.
