"Show off?"
The end of the world is almost here, so why bother showing off?
At least it was impossible for him to show off before he finished his busy preparations.
He decisively hung up the phone.
Back to "I Love My Family" real estate agency. As soon as he appeared, the male agent, eager to please, rushed over, "Bro, what's the matter?"
"I want to rent an apartment," Eugene said.
"Huh?" The male staff member looked at Eugene blankly.
Didn't you just buy a villa? You already have the keys to move in. Why do you need to rent a house?
Eugene smiled, "I'm planning a major renovation for that villa. Do you have any good listings here? It needs to be as spacious, clean, and well-renovated as possible."
"Oh, you're planning a major renovation," the male agent realized. Of course, someone who could spend 12 million on a villa wouldn't settle for living in someone else's old house. They would definitely want to renovate it themselves.
"No problem!" The male agent quickly assured, "Bro, I have several options. Let me show you."
"Alright, it has to be in the Riverwood neighborhood," Eugene made a note.
"No problem."
Two hours later, Eugene finalized a contract with the landlord. It was a short-term lease for two months, with a monthly rent of a whopping 12,000. It was a bit pricey, but the house was truly spacious, well-renovated, and luxurious.
Here was another place where he could just move in with his bags, needing only to buy some bedding.
Alright, another thing sorted out.
Eugene had so many things to buy.
However, most of his money was still tied up in the stock market, and it hadn't reached his goal of multiplying tenfold yet. So, for now, he could only play around a bit.
He started making lists, listing out the things he needed to buy.
Some items required a long lead time, so he had to place orders in advance.
As he was listing everything out, his phone rang.
Glancing at it, the screen displayed "Wife."
Ah, forgot to change the note.
Eugene prepares to punish the Walker family. How could he not answer Claire's call?
"Hello."
"Eugene, I've already had a lawyer file a lawsuit with the court, requesting a revision of the division of our marital assets," Claire's voice was cold and decisive, "Give me an address, so the court summons can be delivered to you."
Ah, indeed, she filed a lawsuit.
Eugene wasn't surprised at all. He chuckled lightly, "Just hold on for a moment. I need to find a lawyer too. In the future, any matters should be directed to my lawyer."
Click. He hung up the phone.
Taking some time to deal with the Walker family.
Eugene didn't have time to waste in court. He first checked online for the best divorce lawyer in Mystic Hills, then headed over.
It was fortunate that the lawyer Edmond Ho was available.
"Mr. Eugene, do you know our Edmond's fee schedule?" the receptionist kindly reminded.
"I do, 3,000 per hour," Eugene nodded.
Indeed, quite expensive.
The receptionist was secretly amazed. Looking at Eugene's attire, you couldn't tell he was a wealthy man.
She quickly made a call, hung up, then bowed slightly to Eugene, "Mr. Eugene, please follow me."
She led Eugene into an office, knocked on the door, then pushed it open.
"Edmond, Mr. Eugene is here," she said.
Edmond was probably in his forties, wearing a suit and glasses. He glanced at Eugene, his gaze sharp, giving the impression that he could see through a person's soul.
"Please, have a seat," he said to Eugene.
Eugene sat down, while the receptionist asked, "Mr. Eugene, would you like something to drink?"
"No need," Eugene smiled, "I'll probably be leaving soon."
"Oh, alright," the receptionist left.
"Mr. Eugene seems to be in a hurry, so let's get started," Edmond said.
Eugene nodded, "I got divorced from my ex-wife yesterday, but after the divorce, I won the lottery. Now, my ex-wife is suing me for concealing our marital assets, demanding to 'divide the marital assets'."
He looked mischievous.
Edmond laughed, "The timing of the divorce and the lottery win should have clear timestamps. Mr. Eugene, I don't think you need to find a lawyer. Just submit the evidence, and you'll have a solid case."
"I originally thought of just leaving it at that, but my ex-wife is being so aggressive. I've decided I can't just let it go," Eugene shook his head.
"Oh?" Edmond was a bit intrigued now, "And what does Mr. Eugene plan to do?"
"My ex-wife had an affair and was pregnant before we got married. So, the child isn't mine. Here's the child's hair, here's mine. We can do a paternity test," Eugene said casually, as if talking about someone else's story, "When I signed the divorce agreement yesterday, I chose to leave with nothing. Now, not only do I demand an equal split of the marital assets, but I also want compensation for my emotional distress."
Edmond thought for a moment and said, "I'd like to remind Mr. Eugene that my fees are quite high... high enough that the compensation you might get from your ex-wife may not cover my legal fees."
"No problem, I won a pretty big amount. I'm not short on money," Eugene chuckled.
Edmond was a bit curious, "How much did you win?"
"5 billion."
"Pfft!" Edmond was drinking tea, and he suddenly sprayed it all out.
That's not small?
Although he charged high fees, he would never make anywhere close to 5 billion in his lifetime.
Eugene didn't mind and said, "The reason I came to Edmond is because I know Edmond is the king of divorce lawsuits, and what I want is to make my ex-wife and her family pay!"
"Hehe, I was a dutiful son-in-law, married for forty years, all my assets handed over, only getting 200 a month. I endured it all because of my son. So now, finding out the son isn't mine, even an honest man like me has to vent a bit," Eugene nodded, seeming to understand.
However... if there was the anger of an honest man, why did he happily leave with nothing and then buy the lottery ticket in the afternoon, winning the jackpot? It was almost as if Eugene knew he would win the jackpot, so he quickly left with nothing to claim it all for himself.
Then Edmond burst into laughter.
If Eugene had inside information at the lottery center, could he have known the winning numbers in advance? How terrifying would that kind of power be? And he got deceived by a woman for forty years?
Edmond chuckled at his own thoughts.
"Alright, Mr. Eugene, do you have the original lottery ticket with you? If not, it's okay. For a jackpot like this, I can request proof from the lottery center. You just need to write me an authorization letter," he said.
"I have the original lottery ticket," Eugene said.
Of course, he wouldn't come to see a lawyer without being prepared.
So, they began the process.
